Beyond Seasonal Resets: Why POE2 Should Remove Standard League and Carry Over All Progress
" Seriously, THIS. I don't know how a chatbot ban hasn't already been added to the forum rules. You could even make the case that it IS against the rules, specifically Terms of Service rule 10a. If AI is generating a post for you, that post does not genuinely represent your thoughts on the subject. |

" The only thing I got from your post was "blah blah blah. you're stupid. this is the way it is and should never change. I want to feel special." The points in my post very specifically address your concerns: -Keep standard and new leagues. -Move expiring league characters to standard. -Both leagues get the same patch. -Those wanting to experience a fresh character and fresh economy, can stick with new league. Those who want to play standard can still experience the entirety of the game that they help to pay for. -I hate to tell you this but most of the youtubers etc ALREADY quit until next release. Fub, Raxx etc etc. Most of them left until 0.3. It's a cycle and they all do it even with the current system. Please sit down with your "the world is going to end" analogies. Please explain what I mentioned would, in ANY way, affect league players. 97 Blood Mage, 96 Gemling, 96 Pathfinder, 93 Invoker, 92 Amazon, 92 Stormweaver, 91 Smith of Kitava, 88 Ritualist, 96 Deadeye (League), 93 Titan (League)

I disagree vehemently with this GPT post.

This is the worst take i've ever seen posted here, below is why.
1. Why Standard League is a Dead Game Mode 📌 🔹 Problem 1: No Real Player Engagement Nobody is making you play standard league. 📌 🔹 Problem 2: It Doesn’t Solve the “Reset Fatigue” Issue Then go play standard. 📌 🔹 Problem 3: Wasted Assets and Economic Instability Assets are wasted regardless - if a new patch comes out and nerfs a class, all items that class used are now trash and take up inventory space. You want to play inventory sort game instead of slay monsters game? --- 2. How POE2 Can Remove Standard League Without Breaking Game Balance 📌 🔹 Solution 1: “Persistent League” – A New Unified Game Mode This is already called standard. 📌 🔹 Solution 2: Seasonal Adaptation Instead of Resetting Everything Lol no. 📌 🔹 Solution 3: A True Long-Term Endgame It's a game, not life, relax bro --- 3. The Benefits of Removing Standard League and Allowing Cross-Season Progression ✔ Eliminates player frustration with constant resets. Solution: Go play standard. ✔ Allows POE2 to develop a deeper, more rewarding long-term experience. Solution: Touch grass on occassion. ✔ Encourages real economic stability instead of forcing artificial scarcity. Solution: There's no stability in the game when everything eventually becomes free due to market saturation. ✔ Gives players the freedom to play how they want—either continuing progression or opting into fresh starts. Solution: You can play how you want already - it's called standard and seasonal. Holy mother of delusion this guy xD Last edited by tdonov5#2743 on Aug 29, 2025, 9:11:39 AM

How about no? League content always end up in Standard and it's only 1 season behind. Just get used to it instead of trying to change the whole thing and even use AI because you can't even come up with good argument yourself since it's obiously so flawed anyway. AI will always act confident like it knows anything, don't rely on that for ideas.

![]() In all seriousness it sounds like you want to play a different game. I'd try OSRS for the long term progression that you accumulate over decades type gameplay rather than trying to ruin PoE by forcing it in here. |

+1
If allowing people to retain their progress throughout leagues is ruining the game, then by all means bring in the apocalypse. |

I genuinely don't understand how you're sitting here advocating for standard to be essentially the only game mode whole simultaneously saying standard is dead.
Starting every league at level 100 even if you get no gear defeats the entire purpose of leagues giving people even starts. This is a change that would make me quit permanent if it happened. |

This would be a horrible idea and would kill the game. The overwhelming majority of Arpg players like the resets and seasons/leagues. If you want to carry over all progress Standard is available, but the majority shouldn't suffer or have their game ruined by a handful of players who don't like resets. Would just be bad to design any game in that manner.

Also it's best not to say things like touch grass or it's just a game. While you may be frustrated, taking weak shots like that at the playerbase is loser behavior.
I understand you may be frustrated because you can't keep up, but your skill being less than those who play more doesn't mean they should adjust the game for casual players. Glad they have shot down this idea in the past and are keeping the seasonal model. There are games like D4, LE and Grim Dawn if you want a more casual friendly experience. |
