At last someone told true words! Why resetting everything in new League? I mean ok for the economy system but levels of chars shouldn't be erased.
I never move to Leagues due to level reset. I love my char i don't want another effort, i don't want to play another class.

" Me too. Why the hell all effort from the beginning.... We had enough one time to reach 95 level, i don't want to pass it once more time. |
Forcing people doing things that not like makes the game a no willing to play game.

" I also think they should allow the new league mechanics in standard. The problem here is that the league players want to feel special lol. If everyone gets league mechanics, they no longer feel special. The original intent behind league play was to reset the economy. A fresh character and a fresh economy. Then, somewhere along the path, it was decided that the league mechanic should also be specific to the new league. This essentially forced more players to go with the new league every time. There are a few issues with this. A: New league is only a bandaid fix to the economy and doesn't address the root causes of the inflation. If it did, you wouldn't need another reset every XX months. B: The players on standard pay the exact same as someone on league play but get to experience "less" of the game. Then, as the league expires, the devs decide which of those league mechanics standard players will have the chance to play. This is not competitive PVP. This is essentially a coop/single player game with trading involved. It really makes no sense to handicap part of your paying player base just so that the other part can feel more special. It would also make work for the devs that much easier when they don't have to separate everything every 4 months. New league? Here is the patch, roll it out to everyone. Expiring league players would still be moved to standard but everyone would get the exact same patch. The new league would still get fresh players and economy so ABSOLUTELY nothing would change for league players. It would, however, allow standard players to experience the full game that they also contribute to financially. As I said before, the only reason this is in place is to make the league players feel special. Either way, I will stay with playing standard (mostly). I have done the rat race. I have no intentions of doing the rat race any longer (trying to level/gear/end game in 4 months). That's not to say I won't create a character on new league just to experience some of the stuff I help pay for. However, the lion's share of my play time will be in standard. Edit to add: I play standard because I can experiment with different characters/builds without having to worry about leveling/gearing another character in a 4 month deadline. I don't care that there are less people playing in standard. As I mentioned previously, this is essentially a coop/single player game. 97 Blood Mage, 96 Gemling, 96 Pathfinder, 93 Invoker, 92 Amazon, 92 Stormweaver, 91 Smith of Kitava, 88 Ritualist, 96 Deadeye (League), 93 Titan (League) Last edited by The_Gadget#2563 on Aug 29, 2025, 7:47:25 AM

Garbage idea. You will never see an RPG or an ARPG with no reset of some kind. Whether its you starting a new playthrough in BG3, starting a new character in Diablo, starting a new character in Last Epoch, A new character in Torchlight infinite, a new character in Grim Dawn, etc etc.
You want to know why ? It is because the entire game is built upon this design philosophy. It is impossible to create an RPG or an ARPG that is fresh, fun, and interesting to play, without some sort of a reset mechanic built in. You will never find an ARPG or RPG that allows you to "start over" retaining all previous progress, items, levels, etc. This is even more so in a game that has an economy. Without resetting an economy, prices have inflation, and new players can not afford anything, and will find it difficult to sell anything that is not of large value to begin with. Theres a seasonal reset model, because players will absolutely not play these types of games all day every day, all year long, year after year. There's other games to play, other things in life competing for your time. All games are like this. Some people try to do everything they can to keep their players from ever leaving, like WoW, and others build a schedule into their entire game design to create a cycle that players understand, and they know they can leave, but they also always know when is a good time to come back. When we add balance changes, reworks, addition of new content, etc, you absolutely are not allowed to ever do that stuff with existing characters. So you can beat the new content in a day, get bored by the end of the week, and quit? That's bad for business, bad for statistics, bad for marketing, bad PR, all bad. When you beg for stuff like this, it helps to think deeper about this, why something you want is not happening, and why you havent seen anyone else doing what ever you want. There's likely a reason for it, and its backed up by data. People wish every game could be catered to them. When you have to ask questions like this, its likely because the game is not for you. Idiots like the post above me dont understand something as simple as supply and demand, how players play and eventually quit till the next release, why inflation happens, etc. Don't be like him. Its not fun to build a character whose max level into a new build and play around with it. You miss out on the most important part of the ARPG you are playing. You miss out on the progression, the feeling of getting stronger, getting that lucky craft, that pog unique that really saved your build in campaign or mapping, etc. If you skip the entire journey and progression to the end result, you are either instantly disappointed because your build idea sucked, or you have fun for a day and quit. Path of Building and starting over are the reasons people play PoE for over a decade. Its not about finishing the build, its about coming up with your own build, seeing it come to life, and seeing what you can do with it. Thats what keeps people coming back and playing for a decade. Not using some standard character for a decade because you are too lazy to start over, being left with the 4 month old garbage no one cares about, while we enjoy the new stuff.
