Why are we not seeing weekly patching to improve your game?

The title says it all. Instead of overwhelming your team with some huge patch, you should be making weekly changes that keep the game moving in a better direction. If something is broken, fix it. If a build needs to be nuked, nuke it.

It would be nice to get a free respec if you nuke a build, but we understand if you dont do this.

We lose confidence in GGG when you talk about all these things you are working on but we literally see nothing happening for weeks on end. You do more patching in a normal POE 1 league than you have in POE 2 EA.

Nobody cares about skill gem dps and tree stats. There is much more work to be done in hardware stability, adding content and art than on numbers tweaking. Don't be superficial, that can happen after launch.
It took them one month to fix lightning bolt crashing the game for the entire party.
OP is generally correct that in an Alpha/Beta situation consistent updates work much better than large patches. Players like to see things being hammered out daily.

Persistent patching also allows for easy micro changes to those changes. Larger patches bring about multi-layer issues that can be harder to track down or parse as easily.

because weekly patches dont make them as much money as people quitting and coming back every 3months to buy a supporter pack
Not everything can be done in a week. What if they're completely redesigning the end game?

Also the reason we don't get news is because they might completely throw away what they're doing and do something else. If they were to say "we're doing X" but decide to change to Y there would have backlash, so they just don't say anything until release.
Considering how fast players kill bosses, and the intended fight time given in the interview, I don't think fast patches would be too helpful right now. They need to make some serious systemic changes to curtail player power. And such changes need to be carefully thought out and balanced. So given just how messed up the balance is currently, I think not rushing in hack fixes is the right way to go.

That said, once they do issue the balance patch, and make it clear what exactly the intended player power level is, I do think that, from that point on, patches need to happen more frequently.

In the context of the recent POE1 announcement, and also from the subtext of Jonathan's words, I feel GGG is currently in complete disarray.

This early access so far has been nothing but a disappointing shit show. And don't gimme this blabla about player numbers, the arpg genre is filled to the brim with players yearning for a new quality game to sink their teeth in, and that's the only reason why so many people jumped on this game.

And the state of the game, along with the complete refusal to communicate and seemingly no patches, let alone content, is why so many people have jumped ship again by now.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we will soon see some drastic changes to the project and possibly leadership. Something smells like it's about to blow up.

You are way over exagerating man.
In my opinion GGG is just sticking to what has been working for them in the past.
I think you guys are being way too impatient. If we're talking about a game that is meant to be played for years, possibly over a decade, a couple of month is nothing in contrast to the big picture.
I should reserve judgment until league 1 of Poe 2 starts and we get to see what they've been working on but I'm willing to bet there's going to be some pretty massive content additions.

To be honest I was also expecting more updates during league 0 but at this time the game is still very well polished and very much in an enjoyable state.
Obviously it's not as complete as poe 1, but it's already standing on its legs like a boss even at its infancy stage.
On the other hand if league 1 doesn't come with a cool league mecanic and considerable new content then I'll be really disapointed. Also I'm hoping it doesn't take too long to be announced.

Because GGG lacks a dedicated Project Manager who keeps everyone on schedule. Jonathan has serious issues with time management and they are HEAVILY understaffed.
Path of Exile 2 is a finished game, what do you expect developers to add?
Do you want Da Vinci to repaint Mona Lisa?
There is no improving what is already perfect.
