Consider merge PoE 1 and PoE 2 as told back in Exilecon1.

Just as you said years ago.

ONE GAME, TWO CAMPAIGNS.

Keep PoE1 system (gems, sockets, crafting, mechanics, trials/lab), which is clearly the one working and with more and better content. Add to it the PoE2 classes, the new campaign, visuals, etc. Get rid of anything else, it's not working as good as in PoE1.

And thats it. Win-win situation for everybody.

And the good news is you are still on time for that before screwing both games for good as it seems honestly. Future doesnt look good with both games coexisting.

Nah don't infect my PoE 1 with this.

Just a small graphical upgrade if possible, or we would settle for just ... having seasons like promised.
Considering what we have seen of PoE2 I dont want it anywhere near my PoE1.

The only things I want from PoE2 in PoE1 is WASD and weapon set passives. Everything else is objectively worse.
I want what GGG sold POE2 as and nailed in the campaign.

I do not want POE2 to become the mindless 1 button cookie clicker that POE1 is.

What a massive joke POE2 would be if they just have two of the same game running alternating leagues. it would literally be stupid for GGG not to try and capture a wider audence than just the zoomer niche they've accidentally appealed to.

They can't release a POE1 league fast enough, its obvious that POE2 attracted a very large number of players who want something more than POE1 offers. While also turning off POE1 zoomers.

Its also kinda obvious that the zoomers are the niche audience considering the numbers.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.

Imagine thinking that the game thats aproximately 5 to 6 times more popular in month 2 than most any POE1 league is the one they should gut and fold into the less successful game...

Look its fine that you prefer POE1's faster space ship shooter gameplay. But suggesting that 2 shouldn;t continue to be its own thing is just a completely out to lunch take.

DO NOT merge them. You fail to realize your opinion is not that of everyone. The games are separate for a reason. They are different for a reason. A lot of people prefer poe2, a lot of people prefer poe1, a lot of people like both each for its own reasons. Merging them would be a lost for those 3 groups of people. PoE2 is NOT meant to be the same as poe1, for the same audience, with the same gameplay feel.

Some things from poe2 that work for poe1's feel will be ported. Some things from poe1 that work for poe2's feel will be ported. Everything that is different between them will be different and will evolve in separate ways with separate goals.

I've been posting for a while that I was concerned that having PoE1 and PoE2 as separate entities and both reaching the pinnacle of what they can be isn't likely. One game will get the attention while the other game will be left on the vine to wither.

GGG has confirmed that my concerns were valid -- the only thing left is to figure out if the concerns become "reality".

IMHO making PoE2 the best "PoE" game possible for both audiences is likely the way to go. I'm not convinced that both sets of players will be happy with a merged game but this looks like the best path forward to insure that at least the combined game can thirve long term.
It seems I was right.

They need to bring back Chris Wilson to get GGG back on course. I don't expect 3.26 for POE1 to be out this year considering POE2 is an unmitigated disaster of epic proportions since the 0.2 patch was released. GGG was far better of under Chris Wilson at the helm.

Just my two cents.

This was the future of PoE. PoE 2 was Chris's vision for PoE 1. Lake of Kalandra and all of the preceding leagues going to back to Expedition were supposed to help transition into PoE 2. Kalandra and rolling Archnemesis wholesale into the core game is why we got Ruthless and why GGG spun PoE 2 off into its own game. Ultimately, we don't know what happened behind the scenes, but I have the suspicion that's why Chris left -- Chris was adamant that PoE 1 still transition into PoE 2, despite the backlash, and Jonathan et al. argued that they should hedge their bets and split PoE into two. Ruthless was supposed to be Chris's pet project as he took a step back, but once that also bombed, he didn't have any reason to stick around. Again, that's just speculation, but... Where there's smoke, etc.

Chris helped create and led the development of a great game that I love. Although I disagreed with an awful lot of decisions going back to 3.5, I appreciate all of the passion and effort he put into the game. But if this is what PoE is supposed to be, I'm not exactly clamoring to bring him back.

How tf were you "right" about anything?
PoE 2 is in a terrible state and you want them trying to fold PoE 1 into it?

I mean, "combining the games" isn't really the answer. The answer is "make a graphical update to poe1 and let poe2 bake for about 3 more years"
