Endgame punishment actively motivates to quit the game.
This game is addictive hence why i havent quit yet. But there is almost no satisfaction from the mapping due to excessive punishment.
Your game has GARBAGE balance of both content and defensives to allow such a massive pile up of the punishment to exist. lvl83 character should not get random one-two shots every third map from the random, often completely unpredictable and invisible source, while having 75-100% Res,75% of Evasion and playing carefully (means rolling, backstepin, corne checking etc) on the Lvl76 maps. 1 death per map or XP loss - one of them has to go. Both, ideally. At some point the dissatisfact WILL overwhelm the addiction. This game has potential. Such a massive punishmenet has no right or rational reason to exist in it. Well, it's supposed to motivate you to improve your build and push you towards content that your current build can handle.
If you're unwilling to do either of those two options, then you certainly can indeed quit. |

The build won't help against random attacks, sometimes you don't even understand what you died from, you won't get anything valuable from smaller maps, which means you won't get any gear.
The maps are huge, the running speed is low even with bots. The maps are a separate part of the pain, either corridors with narrow passages, or rooms with a bunch of doors, where you get stuck on every texture and are pinned down. It is possible to dress only at the beginning or if you are very lucky with the loot. Then the prices increase to the point of impossibility. Now I go in to play, farm a little, then look at the prices and leave the game, the interest is gone. |

lvl 83, "massive punishment". Also ppl can't stop throwing "random" but because you're not aware of what happen or "you don't understand" does not mean it's random at all.

" sometime I just don't know what dmg kill my char.. for example.I was killed by one hit and dot yesterday just one hit and dot 17000+ES gone....phydmg can't be bleed until es to 0 and i got Ci to immunity chaos dmg,the boss don't have fire dmg , so I really don't know what DOT killed me,an have no idea to improve it ,that why GGG need to give us a Killing Report or Death Records ot something like that to tell us what happen.. |

I 100% agree. The game is too punishing, it is not fun to run 2 hours of maps to die to some invisible mechanic and revert all your progress, and there is no way to check a death log to see what killed you so you can learn. I am basically done with early access until the 1 death per map or XP penalty is GONE.

I agree, the XP Loss is way too punishing

" That's the entire point of the game. This doesn't do that. You can't improve your build if you can't run the content because you keep losing the map and the experience and start regressing. The motivation to improve your build is literally what going through the entire game is. Nobody is not doing that. But when it becomes too punishing then it just promotes the tendency to focus on only META builds, and then you end up in a Diablo 3 situation where only 1 or 2 builds per class can do the top end game content. Build diversity is a huge reason why so many people play PoE, and this kind of punishment stifles it completely. Last edited by LennyGhoul#7115 on Jan 25, 2025, 3:31:43 AM

" This of course is still GGG's fault because every other ARPG and most video games in existence actually tell you what killed you, and GGG is unwilling to provide that information(something even Diablo 1 did almost 30 years ago). So without being able to learn from your mistakes, you can't just "git gud noob". Last edited by LennyGhoul#7115 on Jan 25, 2025, 3:30:23 AM
