XP loss leads to player count loss.

How often are yall dying at level 70+ for this to be a such a big issue?

I'm level 90 and it's the first time it's been an issue tbh. but I play for a couple hours, die once to something random, and then I'm like welp lets check out the forums instead of playing.

By level 90 its more about finding gear than gaining a level anyway. Its almost an irrelevant facet.
+1

Losing hours of progress is not acceptable.

It's disrespectful and insulting to people who value their time.

4-5 times today. Didn't expect the patch to make things harder, so I played as I did. Not dying anymore since I don't run waystones the same way anymore. Besides it just doesn't need to exist. Hardcore league can brunt the punishment crowd.

I just run a lower tier map if I am getting slapped that consistently. Its usually a gear issue.

Depends on your build. Some need those extra points. Others don't.

It's the added damage and elemental debuffs for me. Although I would love to increase my max hp by 100(so much!), but that would lead me into a worse situation where I have no mana. Thus no attacks, thus death. I could go for ES, but that's divs worth of gear.

I could run lower tier maps, but then I'd feel as though I'm not progressing anymore. I'd quit before I'd care to upgrade my gear lol.

I think it's a combination of things of frustration - xp is just 1 of them from the month long feedback on forums. Whether people agree or not these are repeated topics.

1) 1 map loss
2) disconnect/lag and breach loss
3) armor stanks
4) mainly aoe mash builds
5) no build diversity
6) game starts off slow as elden ring then becomes vampire survivor
7) on death effects
8) multiplayer scaling
9) ascendency behind rng mechanics
10) crafting bad
11) trade on a website, waiting on players to respond
12) gold/bot spam in chats + whispers
13) loot upgrade almost non existant
14) uniques are still meh
15) body blocking, mob speed vs player speed
16) class imbalances
17) end game mainly kill monster before they kill you
18) some maps just badly laid out (i.e. augury, or that forest one with too many trees/rocks that block things)

That's a pretty good list for them to get started on, just sadly looks like a lot of design choices not bugs.

I see you antagonizing everyone in the forums. I reported you. Bye. You do not know it is staying in game. Fact.
PoE 1 is the best. PoE 2 is something.

I posted that I’m glad it’s staying in the game that’s not antagonizing someone.

No patch notes saying it was removed. So it’s staying in the game. Fact

Exp loss is not as damaging as the single portal system. Even in poe1 the exp loss was the same but no one complained because exp wasn't as hard to farm until level 95 because you can just continue the map using one of the remaining 5 portals if you die. Its the single portal system thats going to be a point of frustration for most players in the long run. Investing in rolling a map, reaching a particular node, getting it to stack a bunch of mechanics with precursors and then getting 1 shot by some off-screen mob and losing all that time and currency investment is just not fun.
