You're doing that thing again where you pretend there's a dichotomy and everyone except you understands its not.
Omens are a mitigation strategy.
Apply your own false dichotomy but use Evasion or Armour. Its the same thing. "If they want me to take more damage later in the game, why do do defenses exist".
The answer to both false dichotomies is that games are a series of man made obstacles with already known man made solutions envisioned by the designer. Armour, Evasion and Omens are among the man made solutions to the gaming obstacles.
Games have designed fail states and designed win conditions*.
*sometimes emergent ones as well but point remains

doing what thing. please don't respond if you have these strange weird conversations with yourself.
You not understanding something isn't a failure on my end. Those are all simple concepts.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.

why are they mitigating the problem they created?
if it's to teach players, then what are they teaching by having a item that goes against their treasured mechanic of xp loss? if they can budge 75% what is the last 25% doing? lmao you're just blissfully being ignorant to what I'm saying..
it's not power progression either because content can be finished prior to level 100. it serves no purpose when there's items to prevent the loss itself. or the mechanic starting at a arbitrary level 70. why not 99? why not the start? if you start a baseline you let players understand what they're investing into compared to a random "now's the time because I feel like it" level 70
it's lazy and bad. this is 2025. Devs can make more engaging content to last longer instead of xp loss lmao... why make poe2

Why are they adding armour and evasion to the game to mitigate the monster damage they created?
The answer is the same.

because defenses aren't what we're talking about.
why are you like this?
Defensives aren't thrown at the player at level 70. it starts at the beginning of the game where it forces you to use a potion when you lose health.
please can you answer this without pandering

I don’t know what they were thinking but +1
This has not even been addressed during the patch stream
Actually it was. GGG thinks it's fine. They WANT to punish you for playing their game.
Nah. They just punish you if you SUCK in their game.

300k people was almost achieved on today on steam alone. 292k. It's almost been 2 months since launch. That's actually really good.
Don't listen to these people who have been filtered. They are just trying to blackmail the devs into making the game change.

How can you suck at a game that's based on RNG??? Seriously, that has got to be the silliest thing I keep hearing.
Diablo 2 was not a game of skill, Path of Exile isn't either. If you think so, I'm going to simply laugh.

No, it's only been about 5 weeks. They lost HALF their player count in ONE WEEK. That's NOT good.
Still, they managed to keep the 250k that stuck out despite the bad implementation, so yay.
