Reminder: Patch 1.1 is "What we could fix and get done quickly."
Things like 15% armor buffs, the minimal changes to charms, Scavenged Plating still being donkey booty next to Wind Dancer, mapping adjustments, and such are first-pass snapkick "make it better in what we can accomplish in a week" fixes. They are not be-all, end-all Final Ultimate Solutions. Patch 1.1 is an attempt to slow the bleeding and reduce the pain as much as is reasonable on a very short timeframe.
Keep this in mind when posting all your "THE SKY IS LITERALLY FALLING WHILE ALSO EXPLODING" psychotic ultra rants about how PoE2 IS ACTUALLY RUINED FOR-REAL FOREVER because it is not 100% identical in every single possible way to Path of Exile 1. This is just Step 1. The rest will come. She/Her Last bumped on Jan 16, 2025, 5:22:53 PM

Step2. They should uninstall and leave these forums. They are terrible for the game and community.

Poe2 shouldn’t be the same as PoE1. Everything that is the same but worse should be completely revamped.

" i dont think they will start over from scratch |

what they could get done quickly is a balance pass on almost every single unique item where they made changes that you could ignore aside from about 5 cases.
Basically its not a good look, I understand your point OP but its a mess and they don't really look like they lack for changes they could make rather that they focused their efforts where it doesn't matter (for some of it). I'd have been just as happy with bug fixes only frankly and I doubt i'm the only one lol, well and the citadel changes are an improvement. |

I just went back and tried POE1 (level 95 jugg) while waiting for the patch, after about a month into POE2...and it's like a drug hallucination or something, everything moves so damn fast!.
I like POE 2 better but the warrior...moves like a zombie, attacks like a zombie...maybe he's not alive? |

the game is new and already has bigger updates than diablo or any other ARPG could ever have. Just chill and let the DEV's do their thing!
like the patch! |

I don't think you know what you are talking about, and I get tired of flattery threads and comments like these the same way you get tired of other people's criticism. The patch notes are basically nothing and patch none of the critical issues that make the direction PoE2 worrisome.
Nobody asked for more chests, nobody wants more Shrines, nobody cares about the ephemeral leveling uniques. Meanwhile, they axe Meta gem builds, do nothing to the absurd dmg and resilience of Mana stacking builds and clap on the faces of melee players still. It's as if they have no idea of what they are really doing. I mean, one of the Game Directors didn't know how Energy Shield and Bleed interacted, you can see that in the interview. |

" Typical. "This person doesn't want the game to be exactly and completely 100% identical to PoE1 in every possible way, therefore she has no idea whatsoever what she's talking about." PoE1 is right next door, and can still very easily be played. Have fun. " I'm quite on board for more variation in the mapping experience, thank you very much. Sure most of the Unique updates are "why?", but eh. Differentiating different map nodes more and making suboptimal layouts more rewarding in different ways is A-OK for me, however. " They did no such thing. At no point should the skills triggered by Meta gems be contributing energy back to the Meta gem. They made Support gems and passive tree nodes specifically for doing this sort of thing. The idea that triggering one Comet should be all you need to do to trigger the next three Comets, ad infinitum, is absolute hogwash. Meta/trigger abilities should always be of the form "Player does [X] to trigger [Y]". they should never be of the form "Player does [X] to trigger [Y], which triggers 2*[Y], which triggers 4*[Y], which triggers 8*[Y], so on and so forth until the entire map has been cleared by the player doing [X] one single time at the beginning of the instance." Players who want to do that garbage can walk right back to POE1. I've been using Elemental Invocation on my Frostflame Sorceress for quite some time now and find it to be a fantastic addition to that character's kit. I've tried Cast on Freeze, and frankly it sucks to play. The fact that it only feels good to play when you scale it to Comets-per-second ludicrousness should tell people something. " Mana stacking is a high investment archetype. It's supposed to have good returns. other archetypes are supposed to have better returns than they currently do. This will be addressed in future updates, because as I said..."Patch 1.1 is "What We Could Fix and Get Done Quickly." " It is physically impossible to make Melee Players in path of Exile happy. At this point I am convinced the fundamental laws of the universe itself prohibits it. " How many internal builds do you think they're working on in the offices at GGG? Jonathan and Mark are both overview/big-picture guys, and frankly it is entirely possible Bleed is not acting as intended and Mark was surprised by this. You cannot think of a single reason they might have been surprised by that interaction beyond "malicious laziness and lack of competence"? If you're convinced the entire studio is maliciously lazy and incompetent, go find a different game. She/Her
