Why do people looking forward to economy reset?
" > New economy will not make these items more accessible Yes, exactly, but the MAJORITY of people think it will. Or maybe I should say the vocal ones whining about an economy reset. Last edited by kamiknx#1162 on Jan 15, 2025, 7:28:42 AM

" The issue is that the 'old' league our characters are currently in won't be receiving all the new updates. Some people have ZERO (0) interest in leagues/starting over F R E S H. |
|
" It never worked like that. All permanent content is available everywhere. They might run some league specific content like PoE1 but I doubt it - or maybe they'll just port another PoE1 league that will only be available in temp league. Classes / acts are permanent content, while they technically can design leagues that work completely differently from base game (for example roguelike races Descent and its sequence Descent Champions) it's more work. " What do you mean? All the balance changes will affect current characters as well (in fact you will probably get a free full tree reset like they do in PoE1 on major balance changes). All the new gems, weapon types, character classes and acts will also be available in standard. Most people just choose to play in fresh economy. " I believe they will still get the same updates, the issue is they will still have legacy items and an economy that has been influenced by previous game versions. So if you keep playing the same character they will still benefit from updates while getting to keep legacy stuff. " I understand that, but if GGG want to make significant changes to the economy then some sort of fresh start is required. I think you will still be able to make new characters on the legacy league but maybe not? |

" We had races that didn't have any leagues enabled and races are also technically temp leagues, just very short ones. We also had leagues designed quickly as a filler to give them more time to work on big expansion (for example Darkshrines short league or extremely long Legacy league which didn't even have any new content, just smart reuse of all existing content by that point). Not to mention Onslaught which was the first league in PoE (along with Anarchy) aside from some exclusive items/bases was literally just faster monsters. " Again, this is the issue. Allow all players access to novel content/updates as its released. Don't exclude players just because they don't want to start over. |
|
" This has always been how PoE was running. Initially leagues were made specifically to test new content. If you don't like that - game is not for you. As much as I hate what PoE1 has become over years - leagues isn't one of the things I hate, it's one of the best things about PoE, and that's why literally every ARPG copied that model. It's silly because players can still test the campaign & any new lower-level features in standard. There is no legitimate reason to not keep all leagues updated together.

" Fixed that for you. We are plying POE2, not 1. That awful model can stay in the dustbin. |

I'm sorry to tell it to you but they are not dropping model that made them successful. No one knows if there will be any league exclusive content in EA - it can go either way, but after early access this league content model will continue to be a thing.
