They're talking about builds that are insane like 400m+ that just delete t4 6party fights.

I'm not saying that t1-t4 solo will be long drawn out fights im referring to full party fights that end before anyone can attack besides these busted builds.

No Howa, actually lowers my builds DPS.
I'm using tri flat damage, ias, crit, crit damage gloves all rares just like my assassin on PoE... Except ingenuity.. I don't like using uniques very often.

Teleport to different acts, and open the party window.
It is full with "help with X" , "pls help Y", ...

This is not only it...
I knew some guys wont even finish the campaign, the moment I played it.

But when they finish it, they hit the BRICK WALL.
Cannot fix defenses, do not build the right way, do not understand tablets/waystones, die constantly and complain...

But the most sad part is, those who are doing average...
Some of "get" somehow to T15, and play them like ... two maps per hour...

It is really sad.

Even with copying meta builds, some guys overlook a detail, and the result is just... terrible.

And the gap is brutal.
BRUTAL.

You have one group of people, playing T15 and get millions of exp and drop. (In one of the groups I sometimes join, it is not uncommon to get 4-5 divines RAW at a map, combined with something aside)

And another group of people who thinks its playing T15, but is farming like 10 exalts per hour.

0.1.1 is comming.
This will get worse and worse.

And right now there are not so many farming options. I mean so many people are forced into this nightmare loop, where they barely make anything on top.

And it will be years, before they manage to implement as much as the stuff we have in poe 1.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think the "slow and methodical" gameplay they pitched is ever going to be a thing; there are far too many variables between builds and gear in this kind of isometric arpg and it's super apparent when you level other classes. On release with my warrior I died repeatedly for hours with my Warrior trying to make totems work, ended up doing just enough grinding to get a skill gem for Resonating Shield and then immediately killed him just constantly using Resonating Shield; by comparison, my minion witch actually skipped all of his fight pretty much, to a lesser extent, it was the same with my ranger and monks. "Slow and methodical" gameplay that is engaging and fun requires actual balancing and curation of the fights which is why the campaign sorta has it, but again most of the "challenge" is down to availability of skills, gear, and passive nodes.

I believe achieving this "evolution of arpg's" that PoE 2 is supposed to be would actually just mean that it would have to be a more stripped down version of a traditional isometric ARPG....it'd be more like a Hades, with much limited selection at any given point.

Out of curiosity, when people mention "slow and methodical" what games are we using as a reference?


Hades 1/2 are probably the two closest games to what people expect out of PoE2, yeah.

It's odd, though. Marvel Heroes 2016 (which was under the wings of David Brevik and Jeff Donais AKA Doomsaw) did a pretty good job of balancing fast ARPG gameplay with meaningful mob fights and high mob density. Yet because MH 2016 is no longer publicly supported, nobody remembers any of this. It's been erased from history. Well, except videos like the one below:

Yes, the end-game/mapping now (yes, I did complete 1 map on my Merc, and just recently a few on my Warrior [finally])...well, then yes (breach/delerium/etc is diff a bit perhaps?) lol (aka "zoom zoom 1-shot").

To re-iterate (TLDR): post-interview, (personally) my current (until more data arrives from the community/YT/forums/Reddit/etc) bet will side on past history, i.e. "melee < ranged" and "zoom zoom 1-shot" -- so, no real changes from PoE1, essentially (with the main outlier of the campaign for the 1st ~60 lvls or so...lol --- and new melee classes like Druid/Templar/Marauder...lol [bye Warrior...lol {I don't count Monk...lol -- nor minion/Witch...lol}]) -- and timing-wise, I'll just say 2026+ (so, guessing 1 more year of gamedev until full Release post-this EA).
