The problem with towers isn't the variety.
" As I said, I like the IDEA of the towers because I believe they have more potential for future leagues than just a Map Device. The number of interesting things that could exist inside the tower and influence the maps is much greater than just a simple HUD where you place a scarab and close it to run a map. " My point is exactly this – right now, the towers aren’t worth the time investment. That’s why people are using low-tier maps to finish them quicker. Right now, their only purpose is to unlock a tablet slot, which isn’t much. For example, imagine if the tower wasn’t just something you climb to unlock the tablet slot, but had mechanics inside that, when completed, would buff the maps even more, making it more interesting than just adding scarabs to the Map Device. Something that would encourage players to actually explore the towers. And if you add to that the idea that the tier in which you complete the tower matters, it would make the towers way better than the Map Device. But right now, there’s none of that. I know it’s alpha, but that’s my feedback on the towers as they are now. And to be honest, I don’t have a "more extreme" opinion like yours, because I still believe there will be changes to the towers – there’s still a lot of stuff and leagues to be released. But if the towers are in the same state at launch, I’ll have the same opinion as you. |

" for me it feels like if they should have mechanics, they would already have some. their solution is more layouts without adding anything to them. either they want it this way, or they dont understand the problem in the first place. i know there will be some improvements and its early access. but im highly disappointed in the huge steps backwards from poe1 customization to the poe2 atlas. i thought after over 10 years of poe1 they would expand on this pretty good foundation. instead it feels like 10 steps back in order to have room going 5 steps forward in the next years. |
