The problem with towers isn't the variety.

It's not that variety doesn't make things more interesting, but the problem with towers is that, literally, it's not worth using high-tier maps in them. Most people place lower-tier maps in the towers just to unlock tablet slots, and some even find it annoying to complete the entire tower just to unlock a tablet slot.

So, I came up with a suggestion for the towers. What do you think? The towers should provide buffs on maps based on the tier of the map you’ve completed with them. For example, the buffs could be for gold, XP, or drops, starting with a base of 10% and scaling by 2% per tier. It would look like this:
T1 - 10%, T2 - 12%, T3 - 14%... up to T13 - 34%, T14 - 36%, and T15 - 38%.

This would incentivize players to use higher-tier maps in the towers and also encourage players to seek out locations with more towers to do super-buffed maps, making the towers more than just a means to unlock tablet slots.

I know they buffed the rewards across the maps, but that doesn’t fix the issue I mentioned in my post: 'the problem with towers is that, literally, it’s not worth using high-tier maps in them.' My suggestion still stands.

I haven't seen anything about reward rebalancing for towers, are you sure they mentioned that? Was it in the interview? I rewatched the 0.1.1 Patch Preview video to double-check, and the only change with towers is the new varieties.

What I saw was like 4-5 empty maps when they announced "new" towers. People are going to miss old towers when GGG make them a winding mess thats far too long.

They should honestly be 'hideout' map sized and have high rares density.

Make them attractive as 'fast' rewarding maps without gimmicks or too much travelling.

Hideout maps are worse than towers. You couldnt fit enough mobs in them to make them worthwile.
I do think the tower maps could use an extra few rares on them. But overall, I don't mind that too much. I just use some lesser blues, the ones that give prefixes like "more chests".

Players using lower level waystones on them isn't really a problem with the towers, but rather, that high level maps drop low level waystones. Because, at the end of the day, there is always going to be a "less worth it" map where players burn their lesser waystones on. But those lesser waystones should be based on their affixes, not because some level 11 map dropped a level 1 waystone.

The bigger issues I had with them were:
1) The inability to see into the room.
2) How often we run the same map type over and over.
3) Shades are stupid, horrible unfun mobs, and Vaal guys tossing freezing things down narrow corridors is also not fun.

Of those, #1 and 2 are being addressed. So it is progress.

With loot filter no, they don't :) The question is how many high tier waystones are dropped, and for many people rate is enough to sustain T15 mapping, and with increases number of bosses it will be even easier.
Just put a breach in them. problem solved.

We don't need them to have special bonuses- they already give us access to using tablets. Just put regular content in them as well.

Since when can breaches be added to towers via tablets? There is no prefix modifier adding breaches and breach tablets only put breaches on maps, not towers.
