Is starting endgame supposed to be an immediate wall?
" Game can be rough, on my first character I did have peak bad luck. No drops, crafting failed and vendors never had something useful. Luckily I was on a minion build so I was able to slog through. For such insane chases of bad luck I wish the loot beetle was still a thing. |

" Whether you have an in game trade hub or an external website really does not matter, that is just the medium. Currently we are only one step shy of an actually MMO style AH. We have a detailed search function that lists items based on our requirements. It is not like we are going through each players stash having to browse every item each individual has for sale. All we are missing to reach AH point is the automatic exchange of goods for currency. Regulating bots and market manipulation have nothing to do with balancing the game. These are community impacts, the community is causing these issues, if everyone played the game and traded fairly then the economy would be reasonable. |

Heeey nice to meet a fellow qstaff blood mage enjoyer.
Funnily i'm in the same situation now on HCSSF. Just can't progress. I even opted for LOWERING my resists just to put on some item rarity, still struggling. I really do hope they do something about it after they get back from vacation. |

" It seemed really strong, given that you can effectively double your health pool over what a monk might have and there's the ascendancy node that makes you take physical damage over 4 seconds instead of instantly, but gearing anything seems to be a major painpoint in this game, unless you're blessed by luck or don't have a full time job so you can sit and run 12 hours of instances per day. I don't even want to know what farming was like before they buffed drop rates on gemcutter's prisms by 500%. I've still only found about 12 in 138 hours. There was a bunch of other stuff they massively buffed drop rates on too. Too bad they won't just make light radius an implicit on specific belts, rings and amulets for the 3 people that want it. Cant tell you how many pieces of gear I've just auto-sold as soon as I seen it come up. |

This is how I felt when I brought my first SSF character into maps (frost Stormweaver) but I went full ES gear and all my elemental resists were above 50% and had total of 2800 ehp. I was still dying on every 2nd or 3rd T1 map and if I tried T3 maps I died in 3 out 4.
With no way to trade and no useful drops I gave up on character and rerolled into easymode build - infernalist summoner that probably all SSF players used as their first one to farm gear for all future ones. Endgame is currently worse than PoE1, in PoE1 you run into a wall in red maps, everything before that is playable with many random builds and without a need for trading. |

" The game is actually nearly perfectly balanced where if you are actually putting some effort into looting and crafting you can always progress through the acts easily solo self-found and never get stuck, in a very nice and challenging way. Anyway you guys who are saying that you are dying with 50% or lower resists, it's because you have 50% or lower resists. Get more life, get more resistance, and also you have to understand how to make your defense work. Energy shield NEEDS grim feast, ES/Evasion NEEDS ghost dance, Evasion NEEDS wind dancer, Armor NEEDS shield OR scavenged plating. Last edited by Kashou#2868 on Jan 2, 2025, 7:35:18 PM

" Yeah, I made it through the acts easily and never got stuck, solo self found. And now I'm in endgame, and because loot is dogshit and crafting literally never hits for me, I'm at a wall. You could have just typed "Why don't you stop crafting garbage and just find/craft items with 6 god-tier rolls? Loot problems? Have you tried just finding better loot?" |

" No no you got it all wrong. Trading adds so much to this game. You can uh.. Well. You can hmm... Let me think for a moment. Oh maybe..hmm.. no that doesn't... hmmm Oh, I got it. You can whisper 20 players and get ignored by 19 of them. And then you can get some good interaction time into the game in the form of a party invite, a trade window opening, and then the party disbanding. Quality content honestly. And the best part is. You can continue playing the game, without anything good dropping, so you can have more interactions like this. It really is the best part of this game. And trust me. When auction houses or player stores are implemented. We'll have an even better experience. The entire game will be about buying stuff, instead of ever having anything good drop for you personally. It's really the best part about ARPG's. Trading for loot. Not having it drop. What a dated mechanic. Last edited by Akedomo#3573 on Jan 2, 2025, 8:29:41 PM
