Losing an entire map when you die feels terrible

"
I'm ok with losing xp and the wp when I die in a map but losing the whole map that I spent literally 10 hours to go around and activate all the towers around it is just extremely unrewarding. Now my juiced boss map is just a clear blue dot.

If I'm going to die to random effects that both shock me and take my 9k hp down to zero in a blink of an eye, I would at least like another try.

I know there are people here who are going to say "git gud" or "that's how the game is my guy." And that's fine. If this is how GGG wants the game to be they should know that every time I lose a map like this I go and play another game for an hour or two.

It feels like my map gets ruined every time I die and I am even further away from getting any decent gear. I didn't pick hardcore for a reason.

GGG never does anything wrong, how dare you call out a studio that is perfect in every way and has never made a single mistake!

Hey mate,

If the game gets you that mad or frustrated it might be time to put it down and relax. the end game literally goes on FOREVER and that map you worked hard to get...will come again. Take every death as a learning experience and move on.

No one just "dies" in this game...every action you do has a reaction...you died cause you did it...you can do it mate i believe in you.

im not a fan of how it currently works.

i get that they want to stop people from repeat farming/exploiting good nodes and thats fine but i hate losing the node bonuses and any loot that i havent picked up.

i hope GGG gives us a middle ground something along the lines of us being able to fight our way back through the same map, collect our loot, WITH THE EXCEPTION that the mobs we killed the first time wont drop any more loot or give more xp.
to me, this sounds like a decent compromise for the devs and the players.

the penalty for dying in a map is lost time and lost XP.
with a give & take like this i personally wouldnt mind the xp loss at all.

an added bonus: people can go back and figure out WHY they died.

^ this happens entirely too often and its effectively never from a rare monster. its always some stupid white mob (looking at you eternal knights).
needs to change.

This is the middle ground, their original plan was that the node was marked failed and you could no longer try it again or path through it.

I have not died to a random one-shot since they fixed the chaos damage and removed the chaos bomb on death. Every death is one I knew was likely to happen, but I went for it anyway.

You aren't really losing the map, you lost the entry token (which drop quite easily, just pulled 8 T15 out of one map). You lost the bonus content that you get if you completed it on the first try. You did get to keep anything you had already picked up.

And before some idiots start talking about hardcore, there is NOTHING hardcore about this mechanic or xp loss on death. Softcore does not mean zero consequence for failure. Your character is not being deleted or removed from the league, it is not hardcore.

It's more than the entry token. You lose all mechanics on the node, all juice from tablets applied to the node, and its not just a 'entry token' when its a 6-mod prefix only or 10-mod corrupted map that synergizes with your build. All of these things take time to find, cultivate and then set in place.
