Disappointment with POE2 and Quitting

It's attitudes like yours that are only going to drive people away and ruin the future of the game
Solid feedback OP, maybe check back when they address some of your concerns later. I found similar issues leveling up on other classes but I stuck through it and ended up finding a combo of skills that I feel in love with
Thanks to everyone for your replies, 3 PAGES wow.

I appreciate how most replies encourage feedback from newbies, especially quitters. Now the rock has rolled to the dev team's feet.

Perhaps I'll try the game a few months from now. If I could step back and summarize what I didn't like, it would be:

1. Revamp sorcerer skills, NOT debuffing the lightening tree (which is only sparks).
* It should start with blanket cast speed increases.
* Skills should be redesigned entirely.
* New support gems such as auto targetting.
* Revamping support gem interface. If only one gem is allowed each time, then the interface should count BOTH equipped and stored gems to avoid duplicates.
* While we're at it, some skills reject certain support gems without explicitly stating. For example, Fire Wall cannot equip the +100% ignite chancequip or the 60% explode on ignited death gem, I didn't know until i tried. This is stupid and lazy designing.

2. Gameplay should feel more powerful and rewarding, instead of frustrating and hindering. The benefits of levelling up aren't obvious or motivating enough.

3. Creep mobility, aggro range and skill design should be redesigned. Currently, they zone in on my character, it turns into an exhausting dogfight every time. The sorcerer doesn't play like a mage, instead a rolling-in-th-mud joke.

1) The overall cast speeds are unbearably low.

Yeah, the slow cast speed and the slow movement speed is just so boring to watch that it's unbearable. It feels like they intentionally designed for the casts of your spells to look like slow motion and they want you to invest into cast speed nodes on the tree for it to look normal instead of slow motion.

I have it recorded on obs comparing the speed of PoE 2 compared to blasting with an hh + soul eater buffs or legacy flasks + mageblood.

The only current build that comes even close to blasting with spells on PoE 2 is Temporalis with spark and that's unobtainable for most of the playerbase unless you build wealth early before everything gets inflated. So at best, the only thing you can do on the game that is considered fast is blinking across maps with a temporalis and using spark with lighting rod. That's 1 build. Everything else is either electro arrow or monk. You have minions I guess but everything else is so limited that it feels like this game is an alpha rather than Early Access.

Who in their right mind would rather play PoE 2 after having experienced the constant dopamine hits of blasting through mobs going 120mph. It's like someone telling you to leave behind your lambo and hop on to a rusty uni-cycle. That's what the entire experience of PoE 2 has felt like to me.

Let us zoom out more. Bring back 32:9, Heist Alt Quality Gems, Gear Enchanting, Prophecy, Metamorph & Crucible. Stop removing content from the game. Stop nerfing everything. Stop making the game slow

Ignore those who think GGG won't want to know why players are leaving before even reaching the endgame. It's valuable feedback and whether others agree with your reasons or not it's still important for GGG to see it. Their responses make some sense on general forums where drama queens like to announce their departure as if they are super important, but this is a Feedback forum, people seem to forget.

I can't comment on the skills issue as I have only played Warrior, but I think we have a similar experience in some ways as I also came in from other ARPGs having never really felt POE1 was a game I could enjoy long term.

What I have found is that I needed to regularly reassess what was working and what wasn't in terms of support gems, then maybe adjust the passives accordingly if needed. So I sympathise if you had those issues but couldn't figure out how to improve your setup. It's not always obvious.

What I would suggest is that there is almost certainly a way to make those skills you like work better than they do, at least that's what I have generally found.

GGG has some work to do on balancing I don't think anyone disputes that. If that's your main issue then it definitely seems worth revisiting in a few months and see what changes they have made.

I completely agree about some of the maps, although I didn't find Dreadnaught all that bad in terms of navigation. I kinda liked it as at least the layout was clear and it had clear choke points etc. to play tactically.

Some of the other maps are really awful as melee though, often what looks like clear ground is actually an obstacle, enemies often get shielded from melee slams by tiny environment blocks. Which sure, you can sometimes use to your advantage but it's much more often the other way around.

They need to do a pass on this with the policy "if it isn't visually obvious you can't go there, you can go there". Open up some of the spaces to be less confusing and visually obscure.

False, you don't need that dumb ass build to blast on here.

And PoE2 is perfect for what it is.. it was never meant to replace POE.. it was meant to coexist.
your feedback is good but no reason to quit the game.
Let them just fix the game and hopefully if we don't get what we ask for by season one then by that time you are free to quit and I will join you.

The game is so boring atm . The map sizes are stupid and I agree with you regarding the terraid and the damage of elemental skills. Specially the bow character. It is not tanky at all as a character and it lack the damage to do bosses. This have been since POE 1 and they did not fix the issue .

No movement skill to move fast in maps which is a problem . you have only the stupid dodge which is slower than normal movement speed + boots 30% movement speed . It make no sense.
