suggested Giants Blood And Titan Changes
After playing titan for some time now, i'd like to propose the following changes to rebalance the class a bit.
The problem with giants blood 1. Everyone has access to it. 2. It can be used with shields 3. it makes onehanded+ Shield builds obsolete, and current pidgeonholes, and will pidgeonhole all future warrior/marauder/merc/duelist builds, into using giants blood. the node in its current state- while EXTREMELY Punishing, is too good to not take as basically anything that plans to "melee". Improving Giants Blood for these reasons id propose one of these two changes: 1. (prefered) Move giants blood into the titan ascendancy. 2. (Not preferred) Make giants blood Incompatible with shields (this necessitates implementing dualwield block, which was already too strong of a mechanic in poe1, because of how paper thin Armor/Life stacking is right now, basically necessitating a shield. Moving Giants blood into the titan ascendancy 1. Move trunk out of the titan ascendancy. 2. Place giants Blood where Trunk currently is. 3. Allow hulking form to ALSO effect small passives. The problem with armor Armor sucks. you can never stack enough of it for it to actually ever matter. if the character screen says im negating 75% of physical damage, then thats exactly how much every physical hit should be cut by. There is ZERO reason my 20k Armor 4k life 75% block titan, should be oneshot by random T15 map trash. Zero. none. The problem with life you literally just cant stack enough of it. even with 150+ life and 20+ str on every single possible piece, i still barely reach 4k hp with the Life ascendancy passive. this is horrifically bad. this is a major reason why armor is so bad right now - there is no effective way to scale life via the tree. i suggest, instead of adding cumbersome life nodes, one of two approaches are made to correct the state of life stacking. 1. Double the Life contribution from strength from 1:2 to 1:4 (or even 1:5). this would immediately and effectively fix the life issues. Right now your average titan is stacking 500-640 str depending on the main hand they are trying to use (most simply just opt for a lower level weapon due to the outrageous 212 str needed on level 79+ items. this means they get a MEASLY 1000-1280 life from str nodes currently. this means almost ALL of their life is coming from gear in order to hit the bare minimum 4k life needed to BARELY survive the weakest of end game T15+ mapping. a 1:4 ratio would simply give us another 1k-1.2k life, a 1:5 ratio would be preferable. this would take the 4.5k max life that titan has right now with basically perfect rolls, and bring them to a comfortable 5.7k or 6.2k life at a 1:5 ratio, bringing them more in line with the performances of energy shield right now. 2. incorporate 1%-3% maximum life into each armor node. (i hate this idea, but i hate the idea of pure life only passive nodes even more). Stampede Changes This skill feels great when there's an open zone for you to avoid collisions with monsters. not so great in cramped spaces (90% of maps right now). This skill needs to be able to push small to medium monsters out of its way naturally. give the Stomps Knockback that scales the more heavy armor you're wearing. Also its bugged in that if you collide with a wall, your slam and aftershock cannot hit targets that are in its area of effect. it is registering the slam as being blocked by being on the other side of the wall. I think its all a bit premature.
All ranged classes and skills are practically fully developed. Monk is the poster child of POE 2 so of course its fully developed, have awesome passives and broken, and arguably not melee. But then look at the only true melee weapon, mace, and you'll soon realise that it still has missing skills lol. I think your opinion on a few things will change when they actually put some dev time into melee weapons and classes. |

Almost forgot about how to handle trunk:
1. Move trunk to where giants blood currently is on the passive tree. 2. implement a draw back of "Reduces movement speed by 1% per occupied Space (max 20)" I'd also implement two additional key stones, one located in the INT segment, and the other located in the DEX Segment, on the outer edges of the tree similar to the placement of giants blood currently. I would add these two skills : 1. Dimensional Pocket(int) - Same effect as trunk, however it reserves 1% Mana per occupied space. 2. Supply kit (Dex)- Same effect as trunk, however it causes 1% less evasion per occupied space. |

"move giants blood into the titan ascendancy"
Why would they move one of the few build-defining traits that WarBringer gets into only Titan? That doesn't make sense. Plus you act like getting Giant's Blood makes the game EZ mode or something like you didn't realize it TRIPLES the stat requirements of both hands and really limits what you can equip. Plus, why would you NOT use a shield when that's one of the only two things you can even put in your off-hand? No. Armor needs a rework. Everyone has been saying that. The scaling of damage vs. armor for high tier maps has been well-documented. Titan is a tank build, it's not the be-all damage ascendancy. So, making hulking form (an already OP node) affect MORE nodes is crazy. Stampede sucks. I don't get the feeling it was ever meant as a primary attack skill anyway or it wouldn't be so easy to divert, stop, block, interrupt or so hard to control. " Respectfully, unless they are reworking Armor/Life, and giants blood in general, i dont think my stance will change. in its current form- no matter what build you are doing as a melee- shield is too critical to surviving late game maps. you cant do it on a life/armor build. you will be turned inside out (trust me i tried going dual hammers). the number of times i get blasted by random white mobs when i swap to dual hammers for HOTG on a rare, is insane. as long as block is necessary to surviving as a melee, Giants blood + Shield will basically be a requirement. in fact, i would argue that melee currently ONLY works because giants blood is on the tree. onehanded maces just dont put up satisfactory damage currently, and two handed is not an option that is compatible with surviving end game. |

The only way I could see these changes to Giant's Blood being okay is to also put it on a unique item so the possibility for other classes to get it is still there. It makes sense that Giant's Blood would be available to the Warrior's Titan Ascendancy. There's also another possible option too. Leave Giant's Blood where it is, and make an Ascendancy passive called Titan's Blood where rather than tripling stat requirements, they're doubled instead. It would give players the ability to still use 2H weapons as 1H weapons but still make the Titan Warrior better at it. Remember, we still only have half of the classes that will be available after Early Access is over. So, I'm sure there will be other classes that would want Giant's Blood as a possibility.

" I agree that armour/life is a bit ass atm and would benefit from some dev time. That doesn't mean you can't run dual hammers though. It's pretty fun |

" I'm not sure how you think warbringer is somehow build defined by giants blood. right now, warbringers two defining builds are totems, which are pretty strong, and dont scale from your main hand like they do in poe1, and corrupting blood warcry builds. Titan is built around slams, and stuns - both of which are geared towards twohanded weapons. giants blood is infinitely more related to titan than it is warbringer. " oh yea? " i totally dont realize its extremely hard to use, clearly. i mean its not like im saying hulking form should affect strength nodes or anything for just random reasons right? " " Yea, no duh? i just said that. it was the primary reason as to why it SHOULDNT be compatible with shields unless they are substantially increasing the durability of armor/life builds (like nearly doubling it). " *Stares at turtle charm/renlys/wooden wall/jade* i think you meant to type "war bringer" instead of titan. titan has Increased life(lol), and Increased body armor(lol) which is barely better than an armor node that can be accessed at level 7. " stampede is one of the top clear speeds ever since they broke armor explosion. titans are stacking it to 100% aftershock with bleed, and Warcries aggravate bleeding/Aggravate bleeding on hit. to cause the slam to bleed, and the aftershock to aggravate anything that didnt die from the double slam. its actually VERY good at clearing right now. |

" yea for about ten seconds into a T16 map, and then you fall over dead on the first or second pack at 4k life/18k armor lol. right now, dual hammers is basically only for swapping in for HOTG maxing. |

i think the main problem with our warrior tree is shown when you put "stun" in the searchbar. holy crap half of the tree is blinking like a christmas tree.
