Leveling from 96 to 97
" Why do you think games in general restricts the xp gain the higher level you get ? Its not just about what i agree with. I could care less if you hit lvl 100 in day one. If anything these restrictions/punishments hits even harder on me than you and i should be more annoyed about it Last edited by Itsmez#3805 on Dec 29, 2024, 4:34:27 AM

" Because the people that make it don't want a majority of people to be? |

" What did you write for your first post mate. Don't try to pull a fast one. You clearly had an issue that he was playing a lot, and almost 100, and you gleefully shared your opinion on how he needed to be punished for that. This has nothing to do with other games having more xp needed the higher you go <3 Last edited by Akedomo#3573 on Dec 29, 2024, 4:34:39 AM

" Maybe you should read again then. If anything the level restrictions punish me more than you and i should be pissed about it. I could not care less if you hit 100 in a one day, but its a nobrainer why the restrictions are in games in general |

" 1 month? Wow, And that's too fast for someone to be max level? I guess someone playing a game for 100 or so hours, well that's just too fast. Even though that's like, maybe 4 hours a night for a month. " Yeah, the whole like what, 3 games that still have xp loss on death in it, have it specifically because they want to punish players from leveling too fast. Even though basically every other game in existence doesn't have it anymore, and doesn't care if you hit max level. Levels requiring more xp the higher you go isn't the same as XP loss on death either. It's an intentional design decision to maximize the feeling of progression. The games that do it have most of the best things unlock when you're near max level. They want you to slow down and feel the impact, and feel rewarded. What does PoE have? Oh, a few skill points for the last 10 levels when mosts peoples builds are done at 85. Yeah mate, we really need to slow down progression in an ARPG so that people don't get overpowered getting another +12% fire damage node when they're already blowing up the entire map. Great take. |

" Yes, it is. PoE isn't one of those MMOs that start endgame at maxlvl. It's an optional reward for a selected few. That's allowed to exist. Also, OP's math does not check out as you can do plenty of stuff to your maps to increase EXP. For me it's closer to ~10-15 hours. ![]() |

Not sure it is intended by design to hit lvl 100 each hero\season, so it is an achievement, not common thing

The way XP works combined with the death penalty was always a bad design. It funnels players into playing the meta where you kill everything as fast as possible to reduce your risk of death. Even there all the random, hardly visible, effects can kill you in an instant. It creates a game where ppl become eitehr extremnely risk averse, or play the most broken builds.
Just removing the penalty would improve the game alot. |

350 maps for a single level seems too much, if it's true it will probably be tuned when they come back to patching.
It's reasonable to believe that the challenge / time to do anything is overtuned at the moment to avoid people burning through the entire EA content in 1 month. Every EA game does this, it's an artificial - but fair-ish - way to make it last longer. The only thing I would revise is the xp loss on death, because slow progress is much better than being stuck. They could also use a "rested xp" system for the last X levels if they want to pace the xp gains without the xp going backwards. |
