Why are you using slaves to pull the caravan in act 2? I really have slavery!
I guess that it's also to show that whatever group we end up siding with (or group that would end up being our allies for the big battles ahead) will be flawed from our perspective as players.
I'm totally fine with it. It's a fantasy world full of broken or evil people. The Maraketh are cruel or brutal people, as related by the Ranger (IIRC) as soon as she sees the slaves. This is a statement from the character's point of view, and an obvious note that the devs don't condone slavery. It's simply world building, and if you're offended by that, I suggest you stop playing as it's going to get worse. On a side note, I kind of like that the playable characters and NPC reacts differently to our class and ascendancy class. Some say neutral stuff, but some will say something that is linked to our chosen ascendancy, like one boss calling the Witch the infernal or dark one if the Infernalist is chosen, or that the Acolyte of Chayula is seen as one who follows a dark path now by some NPC/bosses. Or that the warrior is tied to some NPCs in the Act 1, changing the dialogue. In the same way, some playable characters (like the Witch) will find "interesting" something that anyone would find odd, evil or gruesome. I like it. Characters are different and have a different point of view even if we cannot make any choice to how the overall story goes. Last edited by pyrocyborg#0256 on Dec 28, 2024, 1:20:15 PM

" That thing offended me plenty in PoE1. I think the creature is pretty evil. As, Chayula bad. Maraketh potentially less bad, except if they decide to replace the humans pulling the caravan with chocobos (or rhoas or wutever). Then bad. Also, to the OP. The thing you see in the game exists or existed, at least, irl. In our modern age. Them people shoving huge hooks through their skins and then pulling carriages on parades or something. Can't remember exactly. " Speak for yourself. I'm just a humble blacksmiths son.[/quote] No argument there, foundling. A karui lucky enough to not be properly educated in the art of war, equally disgusted by the sight of the caravan pullers like the OP was. Only you have no slavery... |

wait you want to torture animals by making them pull the caravan ? wtf?????
you are living in a time of masked slavery yourself 70% of people work for minimum wage , which in most 3rd world countries is just enough ( or not enough) to eat and go to work , then you go to work get yelled by the boss , telling you there 9999999 people just waiting to replace you , overworked and underpaid . you come home and read this nonsense. |
