Don't ever accept random afflictions.

This.

As a long-time Sanctum runner, it's important to determine what are considered run-ending afflictions and what aren't. Anything that causes random afflictions is one such run-ender as you'll never know what the game will randomly throw at you that could hard counter your build. Additionally, try and avoid purple smoke if at all possible. Not being able to see what affliction you'll get on entering a room is just as dangerous.

Why have random afflictions in the first place, then? Just to put a big red X over a couple rooms in the Trial chart? Maybe they should look this over, alongside the bizarre range of intensity encompassed by "Minor" Afflictions.

Choices. Not every choice has to be the best one.

Not every choice has to be the best one, but shouldn't they be somewhat close? When the risk of all afflictions offered are kinda close, you go, "Hm..." at room selection. Yay, thinking! That's what I want in a Slay the Spire-style map screen. "Oh, but this path leads to a room that's basically a coin flip to an instant loss. Not going there." That's less thinking. Boo!

I can accept afflictions that are more relevant to some builds than others, but if every kind of character wants to avoid a specific affliction like the plague, and it's 10x worse than surrounding options in every scenario, that's not a well-designed choice.
