Manifesto clarifying the direction of PoE2?
A manifesto clarifying the direction you want PoE2 to take would be much appreciated.
At this stage no one understands the game is supposed to be slow paced and tactical (the campaign) or one-shot endgame bosses and trash screen-wide packs (current endgame). Please tell us what you want this game to be, so we can decide if this is for us or not. Last bumped on Jan 1, 2025, 1:35:28 PM

Actually, this is most important question to answer :) Would love to hear that too.

Everybody want the game to cater to them, not a surprise by any means, really. I blame neither side, they all have a point.
Personally I don't care which direction they want to go, but please pick one. If its a game for me, good. If its not a game for me, fine. Just make up their goddamn mind. |

" You just described the game ; but want a description of it ? Woot ? |

We assume that zoom zoom and one shot the end game bosses was not an intention, so this is the point of this topic to clarify that.

I'm sure they will clarify that once they get back to work in january. My guess is they crunshed to get endgame in a playable state and didn't expect things to go just as crazy as they did, but who knows. We'll see.

I would love this.
I still have hope for this game, but there's so many deliberate design decisions that makes the game worse for... Everyone? And I wonder if these deliberate design decisions are here to stay. "We want 'most' maps to be maze-like. We think it adds exploration to the game" "We also want the maps to be the size they are now" "We think the tower mechanics are very fun and they are here to stay" "Melee is balanced and feels good" "Nono, it's a GOOD thing that we've dumbed down the game, so you only have EV/ES/AR as your defensive options" "We think ES and HP are nicely balanced, as we did for several years in PoE. Until we didn't and the game became good". There's a few things they could say to loose A LOT of players, so they have to be careful. One thing is certain, PoE 2 NEEDS a lot of work - at least if their aim is to be a seasonable game where they want players to return each league. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I actually expect the endgame to be completely different when PoE2 launches. Imo it's a placeholder and something to test certain mechanics.
The Atlas tree also seems very barebones and not really like a PoE endgame progression system. I think GGG is cooking internally and it wouldn't be the first time they release something very unexpected and much bigger than anyone would guess. At the same time I expect the EA to last way longer than 6 Months. |

I guess GGG has to choose between big money or small money. I find that really interesting. Because I have no idea where GGG is going. The first big patch will probably point us all in the right direction.
