Yeah. Check steam charts.

For those that does not understand player count and ratings, its both going down, fast.
No, it's not "expected" or "normal", and any serious company should treat this with great respect and worry.

This is a game with 40 ish campaign hours and about 250 endgame hours if you go by GGG's estimates themselves.
It shouldn't have peaked until about mid January.

The drop-off is happening before most players even reach the worst part of the game, which is early mapping (sub T10), and point 5/6 and 7/8 of ascendancy.
For the people not playing meta builds, another brick wall will be found in late maps, as you die constantly and brick your XP gain.

It's holidays, get your head out of your butt.

Which, by the way, even at EA's launch, this game didn't have more players than Diablo 4 at launch (2.5m players).

That number is the total players online over a month at peak, NOT concurrent, D4 is a failure before it was created. Blizzard doesn't publish it's player data like steam, on steam peak players of D4 never surpassed 40k, which is less than 10% of PoE2.

While the game has already lost more than 60% of its players.

Which, by the way, even at EA's launch, this game didn't have more players than Diablo 4 at launch (2.5m players).

So, just expect a worse and more impactful drop in PoE2 than it was with Diablo 4.

I hope the devs are enjoying their vacations, after releasing a game in such a horrible state, and simply going on vacation.

Please fantansise elsewhere, the player retention is higher than PoE1's since 2018, and D4's since eternity.

Also, retention is at about 60%, meaning the rest 40% aren't as active concurrently as before. Which is better than most recently launched live service games.

Personal opinion, but please join the ones who quit.

Personal opinion?
The game lost over 60% of its players, and the game had fewer players at launch than Diablo 4 at launch.

In what world do you think a game with a worse endgame than Diablo 4 will be able to retain more players?

REALITY

All data you just provided is just plain inaccurate.
This guy above calls me clueless, calls what I say gibberish, aggressivly spams posts attacking everyone saying anything negative about the game, then calls me "aggressive". Like do you have a mirror in your home or something, you should use it from time to time.

Of all the posters critical of the game on these forums the last few days, I have never attacked another poster, never joined a fight between posters, only ever talked about the game itself and its issues, and I've had friendly conversations with other posters in multiple threads, I'm the TAMEST of the critical posters here the last few days, and I'm picked out by this guy like I'm the worst example there is on the feedback forums.

What a clown. Any grown adult should have learned countless years ago when some stranger on the Internet is commenting on something they're dissatisfied with, it's none of your business, walk away. And with the state of PoE2, plenty of people have plenty of reasons to be dissatisfied. Not you, you're enraged and make it personal. In real life if you walk past a person criticizing PoE2, do you stop what you're doing to start a fight with him? You probably need some counseling or anger management.

And English is not even my first language, only shows your class.

Reported. IRL if I want to get 'aggressive' like you say, your little fragile heart and ego would break into a thousand pieces, not that you'd ever get a chance to waste my time, clearly we're from different worlds.
I agree. They have work to do for sure. A lot of work. I hope it releases in a year with a ton of work done it. The crafting and gearing system is non existent. I hope they report that the crafting wasn't implemented for EA but I doubt that is the case. Getting the resistances to participate in endgame is horrible. I personally enjoy the trials but they need to make serious changes to make it good and fair (I play melee). Otherwise, I feel this game has a lot of potential. It's just upsetting to hear from vets that they essentially ignored years of feedback and advice. I personally won't be playing if it's a mindless gambling rng fest or if im forced to use trading for all of my gear.

dead? WTF?
The game has 200k online
There are games out there with 5k-8k online.

Game is going great. Steam charts for EA are better than for many similar games on start (esp taking into account that standalone and consoles not included there).

Lets be real here, blizz makes more money on MTX from d4 than poe2 has made from EA preorders. Magnitudes more. Immortal is bringing tens to hundreds of millions a month.
