Just because someone agrees with something on things doesn’t mean they can’t disagree on other things

Not sure how that makes anyone a “newbie” either

Keep the topic on topic please.

I also agree with PoE here. If you disagree with my topic then by all means explain why. I am giving feedback on a particular experience that I believe would be better if changed.

And to POE2: Finding an upgrade through killing mobs/rares feels more rewarding than buying it from a vendor from my point of view.
sure and too bad GGG are on their holidays rn so they wont see/pay attention to any threads rn its kinda sadge tbh just wait to post till they return tbh, also the topic was ended with my first reply to you. your op has no merit
Add Scion To PoE2
I don't mind vendor rare honestly, even if they're boring, overpriced and more often than not, unhelpful. It can help if you're unlucky and having vendor not selling rare gear would seem odd. They would have to sell very good bases to be relevant.

If anything, they should make them rotate stock more often though as if you're stuck (e.g. SSF or refusing to trade through a website), whatever is in here might not help. The new stock on every level up doesn’t even work properly for me. We should have a "new stock" button we can use every few hours or something. Pretty low in the priority list though.

As far as loot in maps, it's usually fine. We don't need more loot, we need better loot and maybe some way to put good affixes on good bases without relying on RNG (e.g. crafting bench).

I understand your take about being unlucky. If GGG could find a good balance, would you rather see a gear upgrade drop from a mob, or buy it from a vendor?

Good question. I obviously prefer looting. It's what most aRPG and shooter/looter are about : looting and equiping new found gear that is either different or better than the previous one. This is my opinion though, and many people might have a different take on this.

Still, I think both options are valid. In fact, GGG really need to give players more options to get relevant upgrades. Having more options won't cut it though if it's bloated, tedious or if it adds multiple layers to do something that could have been done instantly.

We need loot quality over loot quantity, be it early campaign or endgame farming. If vendors mostly sell trash and looking at it feels like a waste of time, it adds to the "tedium" category of gameplay no one wants.

On a side note, I'll sound like a broken record, but they really need to cut on the tedious/chore like stuff.

I think its nice that an ARPG has NPC shop items not be comppletely useless.

They set it so the vendors only reset on leveling up, which balances it.

I don't understand the complaint. Its basically as if the game dropped you a few extra items when you level up.

You wanna know whats boring? Player trading.

So basically upgrades currently fall into the below categories:

Looted
Vendor
Crafting

Out of those options I prefer looting.

Crafting in my opinion should be able to tailor the equipment more to your needs.

Maybe vendors are irrelevant to the experience as a whole?

Or maybe vendors sell just plain white gear and you can craft a specific piece from them if you have the mats. That way vendors don’t remain irrelevant.

Question is how to regulate the amount of loot so it doesn’t become as you said “over bloated”.

Could the game utilize an iLvL for Acts 1/2/3/4/5/6 and endgame so as to increase materials for crafting OR rare drops until you start getting near the iLvL for said area.

After you get around the iLvL then the chances of getting more rares/crafting materials start going down to decrease bloat.

I think the vendors are pretty much a godsend at least for SSF. Maybe this is why you dont like them so much? Since you can 99% sure trade for something better?

We have so much gold that the only other function is the vendors though. Respeccing is dirt cheap even at 89 now.

What REALLY bothers me about the vendors ... is this stupid @#$@#$

How alt UNFRIENDLY are we trying to get???

I was like, excuse me what??? When I rolled my second warrior. So annoying

Well I actually don’t utilize any trading at all currently. I think the vendors still could have a function if they didn’t sell rares.

Example would be in D2 if I was needing an upgrade I could buy a white weapon that had sockets/decent stats and put in a fire/poison /cold gem. This would at least give me the option to upgrade a weapon and not make the vendors irrelevant.

Also, I would ask you the same question as another person in the thread….would you rather buy an upgrade or have it drop while killing mobs?

Well they ... function the same way right?

Vendors loot is just drops every level that you can CHOOSE to get. Cause its RNG how they are generated in the same manner, these are just identified for you.
(Besides the gamble)

The vendor basically has a level drop and its loot is the entire window that you just give gold(that you have WAYYYY too much of) for.

The stuff you get to drop just so happens to be on the floor that you dont have to give gold for in a window.

They both have the same RNG of giving you a rare that you want/need.
