Rarity completely broken????

Was really enjoying this game and recently got my warrior/titan to lvl 88 and pretty much got my gear as good as i could with the currency i had available. A few hours ago i just learned that rarity for some reason is completely broken and not only affects item rarity but also currency drops. To be honest i really thought u learned the lesson from poe 1, apparently rarity in poe 2 is like rarity and quantity in one single stat, no wonder some people are miles ahead in currency and progress while others struggle collecting scraps to finish their char and now rarity is the most wanted stat.
To be honest rarity should not come from gear in a modern arpg, rarity should only come from the content/map mods or people will be forced into a certain meta once again. I really liked the game but now i find myself lacking the motivation to continue playing unless this is fixed. I want to find/craft items to make my char stronger, not nerf my char to get more/better loot just to keep up with the meta and the resulting market inflation.
The way it works now is just unhealthy for the build diversity and the fantasy of making the strongest build possible. Its a leftover from early arpgs like D2 and we all know which class is best for mf in D2 and it doesnt belong in 2024

Then farm the gear and currency? How is someone else using MF preventing you from SSFing it exactly?

Im not playing ssf and rarity creates an unhealthy difference between builds in general which is why they removed quantity from poe 1, its not about me farming my gear but the fact that this creates disadvantage between classes and creates an unhealthy economy in a trade enviroment where the value is based on the amount/supply of loot available which is why people not abusing rarity will only have more and more disadvantage as the league progresses. Besides rarity should under no circumstances affect currency drops which they already knew more than 20 years ago in D2 where runes had no rarity and thereby could not be affected by mf/rarity. The way it works now its like they forgot what they learned from poe 1 and made rarity be like rarity and quantity in one single stat which is why people feel forced to use it and if u cant fit it into ur build u have a bad build

I totally agree that this ancient stat, like Light Raidus, should be removed.
A calm and reasonable person.
It really makes no sense. They delete quant in poe 1, they were experimenting with all kinds of stuff like archnem conversion mods, the reward mods that used to be always tied to the same ones (but then people were doing the whole mf-culler meta lmao) so they changed that again. All that iteration, and for what? They turn around and just make a 2-in-1 giga rarity/quant stat in PoE 2 lol

I feel like a lot of the lessons that seem "unlearned" in PoE 2 is a consequence of so many devs working on this game for like 6 years with no communication with the PoE 1 devs. Seems like these 2 different teams need to actually decide on what makes the game fun, and what doesn't. And make some big changes philosophically and in terms of the game's design if they hope to have any kind of player retention in the leagues that will be coming out for PoE 2.

But who knows, all this questionable design might just be because of "The Vision".

Yup and noone likes to feel forced into a certain playstyle or nerf their build just to fit this bs stat on all their gear to keep up with the market inflation

Yeah it kind of does feel like we could end up with a quant meta again if this doesnt get fixed. I really hope this isnt part of "the vision" cause right now i feel like i dont even want to log in and play cause i definitely dont want to nerf my build just to put rarity everywhere

You kind of do feel forced, we all saw it in poe 1 how everyone using quantity was miles ahead of everyone else and crashed the market before anyone else could catch up. Its an ancient corpse from the past and doesnt belong in a modern arpg that hopes to have a healthy economy and build diversity

This is how a lot of players are feeling about IR on gear...and with how the market is the past week it's completely out of control.

You need to brick your build a bit if you want to keep up with buying decent gear/upgrades. Crafting is almost non-existent in PoE 2.

The other alternative is to play an unhealthy amount of time, which less and less people are able/willing to due these days.
