be honest how many of you cant ssf through acts 1 2 or 3

SSF = Time waster mode.

I have life. I have responsibilities, I have stuff to do. If I were a NEET sure I could do it, but I'm not.

just curious as to how many people here gave up in the first few acts

Just got 2 characters to Act 2 in Hardcore SSF.
Melee warrior and Close range/Melee Mercenary

I build a lot of armor and resistance and mainly play around survivability
I'm a level 75 blood mage and have done it ssf. For leveling, you really just need to find a decent build, get a nice weapon with a lot of plus levels to skill gems, and look for things like elemental resistance and life on your other gear. I got lucky and found some nice blue staffs with plus level to spell skills while leveling and made some nice weapons out of them with a regal and exalts.

It gets easier in act 4 I feel like, after you start getting 4 link skills. The act bosses do require a lot of damage to overcome though. Your weapon, skills and passives are going to give you most of your damage early on.

Definitely check the vendors on each level up, even the past act vendors. I found a lot of nice things there, but not always. Keep your flasks and gems up to date. Find and buy extra equipment to break down for artificer orbs. Use those and some runes to keep your resistances up while you get new gear.

It just depends on what you actually want from a game. I play it like top-down souls-like game

Well i really do hope you LOVE your current gear enough to marry it. Because for some stupid reason late act1/early act 2 gear tends to be the best you'll get in a long, long, long, long time.
whos trading at this stage of the game I think is a better question holy crap lol

and what the heck would you even buy and with what currency at that stage?

Seems like a waste in so many ways and unnecessary

People that don't want the campaign to be a boring slog that takes 40 hours to do, and also don't want to spend 10 minutes dodge rolling around a boss every other second. Because that isn't fun.

its your first time doing the campaign and you already think its a slog then you can play something else. Lol

Done like 4 characters to act 3 now, in maps with one, and only had trouble on an intentionally bad build in cruel until I respecced it and then it was fine. Hardest character was a fire sorc because pure fire is dogshit until you get flameblast. Warrior was easy mode. Ranger depends. Lightning arrow easy, poison arrow struggles hard early.

Never had a problem playing SSF.
