I regret buying POE 2.

No, you are factually incorrect. I was talking about PoE 2 and here you are pointing about an update of PoE 1 that they scratched because they didn’t fit into the boundaries and limitations of PoE 1.

And you had more than a year to get on board or leave the ship. So what’s the problem?

Nice try, but that was what PoE 2 was going to be. It was originally just a big expansion, they decided to make it its own game because of feature creep since they over-designed so many things. That is literally what the devs said in a recent interview, its just facts.

People got bait and switched and that can't be denied. It's even worse that this game is just Ruthless 2.0 but with nice-looking graphics. Oversimplified tree,non-existant crafting system. Boring.Bland.Tedious.Slow.

Feels like a huge F--- You to all POE supporters.

I no longer trust GGG, and while my supporter packages may be light compared to some, I can assure you I have a solid $500+ invested in the first Path of Exile.

You won't get a dime from me moving forward. I don't care what you release in POE 1, you're not getting a dime.

POE 2 is such dog sh-- that you lost a customer with tens of thousands of hours and hundreds of dollars invested.

If you had 500+ invested, you would have gotten a free key.

But you needed to "buy" it and we should trust you that you actually put a lot of money into PoE1.

Lmao.

My trust in GGG got shattered 7-8 years ago, and I'm still here spending.
Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both.

Hate the company. The scummy, lying, fake and shitty facade, the excuses, the failures, and most of all, the "Vision".

Keep both of those in mind when reading my posts.

Look there Mr. Moving Goal Posts, Overwatch started from a scratched Titan project which was originally intended to be a MMO. Throne and Liberty started as TNL project in Lineage chronology but changed to a tab target MMO in a new IP. Things change before a game is officially announced all the time.

An update of PoE 1 was never PoE 2, because devs decided to do something else once they dropped the shell of PoE 1. So stop talking like it’s a surprise to you and everyone else.

I’ve been following the development of PoE 2 since they announced it and I bought into its vision from day 1. I have a lot of friends and coworkers who have never played PoE 1 but are now no-lifing PoE 2. I’ve not played PoE 1 much at all either and are also clocking in over 70h.

So whether you personally like it or not is of no consequence at all towards the success of the game. There are way too many players like me that do.

If you spend 500$ on poe 1. You did not have to pay for the game.

So which is true?

The steam numbers in a few months will say it all. I don't have to prove anything to anyone.

I mean, here's the video of the announcement of Path of Exile 2 at ExileCon 2019, as a second campaign for Path of Exile, including a whole trailer for it:

It changed how long ago? Your argument is stupid, they were not hiding that things have changed. What you posted here is 100% irrelevant.

Idk what you’re trying to prove here. PoE 1 barely peaks at ~10k on Steam and you call that successful. Meanwhile, PoE 2 is peaking over 400k on a daily basis and it’s not even f2p, and you’re doomcalling already.

So what is this hypocrisy you’re spouting?

And it was really only this year, that it became truly apparent just how different the game would be compared to PoE 1.

I don't even mind that it's different. I love the (intended) slower paced and more fluid combat, rather than zooming around the map barfing one ability and clearing screens.

The problem is that so much of the rest of the game is bad right now.

It was changed on July 28, 2023 in this announcement:
https://www.youtube.com/live/Vvah-HfhkYc?t=7542s

But that's not my point. The notion that the game would play very differently than PoE 1 wasn't clear until much later because of the NDA that the people, who played it were under.
