Exit Path of Exile (Save & Exit)
I play hardcore, i got in a bit of a jam. saved and exited path of exile.
i relogin with the character a day later just now, and i login at a checkpoint with 10% life in the map i saved and exited from. This is wrong, if u save and exit, next time u login, u should appear in town, and all maps reset. what if i respawned at a checkpoint with enemies all around with 10% life while the map is loading and my computer is lagging loading the map, i would be dead. fix this, this destroys the idea of save and exit for hardcore players. Wut.
You got yourself in a rough spot, quit out to avoid dying, and are mad that you were put back at a checkpoint in the state you logged out in? |

they make a mode called softcore..you should check it out

the computer and game lags as u first enter the game, i would die because the cpu is loading the shaders and graphics IF there were enemies around the checkpoint that come active while im still logging into the game and loading graphics.
this is flawed. |

" You were abusing the pause function to save yourself in the first place by quitting out.. if you had died it still would have been the result of your initial mistake. I don't know how you saw this shaking out, but I think about the only result will be other HC players thinking less of you. |

" Yes, death happens due to lag and issues all the time. It's part of hardcore. If you don't like it, there's softcore. That's what about 95% of us play, for this exact reason. If you could simply save and exit and be 100% safe every time, hardcore would serve exceptionally little point. Last edited by Pathological#1188 on Dec 18, 2024, 11:14:17 PM

its called re-spawning in town after a save and exit.
in the way it is now, it depends on CPU strength whether u will live or die after a save and exit and hope there are no active enemies around the checkpoint when u relogin. this is fundamentally flawed. change it. |

so if i got a brand new strong cpu i survive a relogin with 10% life at a checkpoint since i have time to react,
but if i have a older cpu with minimum requirements to run the game, and i relogin, i die cuz the cpu is loading the map? fundamentally flawed. easy fix, respawn in town after a save and exit. simple. just like D2 had. |

" You're saying the same thing over and over, and it doesn't make it more correct. If you're worried that you will die at the checkpoint when you relogin, you shouldn't log out in the first place. Or you do, and take your chances, because they are better than your current predicament. Logging out is, by design in PoE2, not a solution to avoiding death that should be trusted. |

explain the thought process on why re-spawning at a checkpoint is justifiable but re-spawning in town is not.
what is the thought process behind that? |
