Chronomancer currently has no place in the game
" I mean, you can with Hammer of the Gods. It is kind of funny. So funny that I am expecting a nerf soon. But its not that great for clear, basically warrior clear. It is also at the opposite end of the passive skill tree. And contrary to poe1, this one is not easily traversed. I think we could build a super tanky iron mage that drops hammers with all that recoup. I know of *one* streamer who already does that. It is so-so. But, again: Why play this over Stormweaver? What is the class fantasy? I dont see it. The recoup and a little bit of time shennanigans cant be it. And the cooldown ignore is too weak, the spells and support gems are too weak. I did a little more theory-crafting.
Temporal Rift instead of the cast speed on rotation gives you the ability to full dump your mana/hp on mana tempest then quickly reset to full. Combine the full recoup setup with MOM/EB with the helmet and amulet that give 30% hp and 30% mana as extra ES. Grab the recoup blocked hits as mana shield and put it on off hand with ES recharge skills and the 50% of damage recouped as mana belt. Now you have block which charges ES, MOM which gets fully charged on block. Any unblocked damage to your mana is recouped 76% percent over 3 seconds and any damage that penetrates your mana is taken 75% on your big ES pool and 25% on your HP which recoups 103-118% of the damage taken. If either your ES or Mana are depleted, Raising shield and blocking at least one hit will charge both to full. Any hit which you survive will be recouped more than you took and if you run into burst damage you can either temporal rift out of harms way or block to become invincible. Just lots of sustain and tankiness with the ability to reset resource dumping. |

Its a support Ascendancy for party. Frost Bomb is very good single target. You can stun Bosses for a long time and deal damage, but need a duo who has clear. Its probably a very good ascendancy for minions as well. I do agree that lightning is too strong. Archmage is exactly what GGG wrote about feeling forced to use. I just dont understand why all the extra damage is lightning only, instead of generic spell damage, as if limiting Sorc by forcing it to stack mana on every build wasnt limiting enough.

One more modification to the defensive layers to the recoup setup.
Instead of MoM, use the damage is taken by mana before life nodes for total 34% damage is taken as mana. With the unique helm and amulet that give ES from mana and life and EB we have the following damage reductions and recoups. For any elemental or physical hit: 34% is taken by mana which recoups 73% of the total hit over 3 seconds. 49.5% is taken by ES which is 30% of Life and 30% of mana. 3% of of total hit is recouped over 3 seconds 16.5% of the total hit is taken by life which recoups 118% of total hit over 3 seconds Mana damage is fully recouped in 1.5 seconds and regenerates over double damage taken over 3 seconds. ES has only minor recoup but is boosted by weapon swap to increase ES recharge rate and start while blocking. Life damage taken is fully recouped in 0.38 seconds and regenerates over 8 times the damage taken over 3 seconds. With this setup, your main damage mitigation/oneshot prevention comes from the 'leaky' ES and you can quickly recharge it by using raise shield to weapon swap. This should be the tankiest recoup setup for Chrono, an effective 83.5% DR while mana and ES are up and multiple ways to recharge both if bursted. My only real problem with Chronomancer is that "Now and Again" is luck based and doesn't just give you +50% increased cooldown recovery rate instead. The inconsistency can feel awful when you have dry streaks, especially for skills with only 1 cooldown charge.
Other than that there are a lot of fun gimmicks Chronomancer can pull off. |

Well no shit the class that wants lots of cooldown based abilities isn't going to sing with most of the skills not being on the game yet.
Chronomancer is one of the classes that simply can't be really evaluated yet. |

Chronomancer seems to be made for dot builds, being tanky and mobile, but gets the least useful damage node with cast speed for that playstyle

I was kind of disappointed to see that a class like this even exists. It just seems like such a rip off from Guild Wars 2 and Echo from League of Legends. Would be nice to see them just remove this ascendancy because it really only makes the game look bad IMHO.
