What kind of skillset do i lack still stuck in the early stages of the game?

I have understood the following 3 things from the community so far:

- If i have problems, i lack skill
- If i complain about it, i have to remember it is early access
- If i still complain, it's RNG bro!

All joking aside, i still do not understand how i have managed to mess up all the classes i have tried so far. Granted, i do not have that much time and i have not played that much, but what do i have to do different when every single boss i encounter in Act 1 seems to kick my butt?

Like i have 2 or 3 skill gems, 2 or 3 support gems (like pierce) and i have put 4, 5 or 6 points into the passive skill tree. Where did i go wrong? Again, i know i lack the skill to kick ass and i can't think for my own, i am screwed without following my fav streamer's build guide, but where did i go wrong when all i did was walk out of town and play for 60 minutes? How is it even possible to mess up a build this early?

Monk for example, it's unplayable until i buy a bow. But even with the bow, i get my ass kicked by most bosses. I know i must have mistimed the 50th dodge, or maybe i casted 2 skills instead of only casting one before 10 seconds of running away, but how do i improve these so called PoE 2 skills? Not trying to be sarcastic, just extremely frustrated. It feels like they are stealing my time with this.

Did you try trading for a better weapon? I was struggling early game until I got a better weapon from trade.
Monk with bow is diabolical
Understand your struggle, that's why poe1 is hated by a lot of people, it needs too much knowledge to just be a "average Joe".

Yes, in poe1 even you got 80/100 in the poe knowledge test still just perform like a average player, that's how harsh the game it is.

And to our so-called-new-game poe2, as a 8 year old bone myself, I still hard depend on my old knowledge about poe1 and I find myself get throught a lot of difficulties easily.

So, is this game more easy to play for newbies? Yes(at least a lot of concept and mechanics is easier than poe1)
Is this game no more hard depend on game knowledge? Sadly no
Poe2 is just a new start for new player to join and the more GGG add new rules and new mechanics in poe2, the shorter the gap between newbies and veteran.

In the end, it will still be a game that rely on a lot of knowledge.

I have to say that, it is the beauty of this game and the reason why a lot of old players stick into it, if the game loses its complexity, most veteran players will lose interest in it completely.

legit question: isn't trading just an excuse for devs to have terrible drop rates and bad itemization?
The game's balance is very poor unless you know from the get-go how to make a meta build.

Just use this in the meantime and hope they eventually pull their heads out of each others' asses.

Trade for a better weapon.
The only thing you need to clear act 1 is to be able to dodge lol? Everything else is just a bonus/makes clearing it quicker.

I hope i can help you with this so... i dont know where you stuck so im gonna write things that help you all across the game.

1- Running its almost always better than dodge roll, since dodge roll slows you down and take a wile to catch speed, use it on the ledge of big AoEs, like when draven consort use the 3rd aoe, or the wolf uses his tp on top of you thing.

2- bosses have signature speech when doing stuff, the wolf for example, every end of a verse, he jumps out of fog, let him speak, and dodge afterwards

3- dont go troug too many atributes nodes early on, go for those small dmg buildups and when it goes trough a nice defensive one, you can get it, like extra evasion/armor/energy shield, if you have your running/dodge on point you wont need those

4**- equipments that gives extra life/energy shield and elemental resistances are VERY** very** important, so if you`re strugling a lot agains an specific boss, lets say the wolf, try to craft a magical or even rare gear with cold resist, dont sell any rings/amulets, cause they usually help to fix those.

5- RNG fkd me up, i was using my lvl 6 ice staff until last night, im at 59 now, for spells, gem lvl matters, for physical hits, weapon damage its way more important, since autos also do a good amount of dmg

6- maybe close combat isnt for you, your reaction still not on point for that, if possible apply a overtime effect on boss/and or a target, like a totem, so it gives you and advantage

7**- dont spread your passive tree too wide on your damage types, choose one and go with it all the way, if you choose dmg agains stunned enemy, pick stun buildup on the passives so you can actually stun more for your dmg node
...
