Yep looks like D4 and look how well that worked out for them.

I’m just glad this game isn’t built around builds like that because it would be straight up trash.

I don't like d4 and PoE2 shift from PoE1 is clearly D4 inspired. Studios know what others are up two, there are way too many similarities in gameplay, DA and gamedesign.
It also land Blizzard few billions and a solid player base. So... It's also what made the success of every other aRPG, because that is the goal of a an aRPG.

I won't even mention that everything people tore D4 appart for can be applied to PoE2. You and the 7 other dude trying to make aRPG actual RPGs are just the pefect milk cows the industry created. Meanwhile you actually think you're a special snowflake with skills. PoE2 is a horde of "animal crossing" skill level players, only able to play 2 hours a week, looking down at people with 10 000 hours in PoE1 and calling them noob because these guys are facing problems you'll encouter after 2 years of gameplay. You guys are the unskilled trash don't talk to us.

I can't stress it enough, dmbfk pies like you should play solo or mmo RPG, don't try to transgender aRPG in what they are not. PoE2 will die way before PoE1.

Wetsocks with no inherant gaming skills like you, whom PoE1 traumatized, won't be playing the game in two months from now, who cares. Settle in btw, you're in for a big surprise in endgame. Stockpile on your "positioning" and "skill" lol.

I'll speak for myself (and in defense of the OP): fun for me is the build creation process, the looting, and the upgrades. The actual (complicated) gameplay itself is way down on the list behind all of those things.

I LOVE automation. I LOVE 1 or 2-button builds. I find joy in getting to that point, and then the loot / trading / improvements.

What do I hate beyond anything else? Tedium in every aspect of play. Having to use 7 skills to kill a pack of white mobs is the absolute opposite of fun. Having to layer effects before actually taking something out is not fun for me. I want to kill things, I want to kill them fast, and I want to kill them easily. I don't want to blow up entire screens like PoE 1, but I still very much prefer limited buttons and powerful single skills.

There are plenty of other games I can play that allow me to engage with each and every enemy. Not action rpgs, but regular rpgs. Action RPGs, like this game, like the diablos, like every clone ever made, is all about getting to the most simple, yet the most powerful build I can possibly create.

That, to me, is the epitome of fun. I feel that this might be the exact opposite of someone like #145, but it is in no way less valid in terms of fun. The gameplay loop is simply a realization of the true fun I have with the game: proof that what I created and put together works the way I want, and I can push it as far as it can go.

This guy gets it. To me, main goal is to make a bunch of currency and to continue improving my gear. This is the most efficient way I can think of to accomplish it. I can run 200% rarity on gear quite safely with this build.

You lost me right here...I think there should NEVER be a situation where your build is "so strong" that you can run full mf gear in the hardest content (*cough, PoE 1, cough). I think the tradeoffs for mf should be so significantly severe that it renders everyone incapable of tackling certain content regardless of build. And honestly, even as someone who almost exclusively attempts to reduce the buttons in a build, I think its far more fair that my kind of build should be the heaviest hit in terms of power, if you were to sacrifice "necessary" stats for flavors like mf.

The value of your drops should be almost entirely derived from the difficulty of the content you are able to tackle, and not from non-stats on gear.
Starting anew....with PoE 2
