My fist play was with a witch, with very bad useless minions. It took me about 6-7 tries to beat him.
Yes, it was hard. But very satisfying once you beat him. TBH, normal mode is the hardest part of the game. Cruel was easier, and endgame is somewhat bland. Enjoy normal difficulty while it last. |

" let me rephrase/clarify something here: its not a mechanically hard fight. literally nothing in this game is. my point is that if you follow the natural progression of the game (aka the quests), it will tell you to go in and fight the wolf before you have enough power progression, leading to a drawn out, dumb fight and you getting bullshitted. the fight can mechanically stay the same but one or more of the following things need to happen: - his hp gets lowered - his damage goes down - players following the quest line get a bit stronger through act 1 so they are better prepped for the fight. sure you could go refarm act 1 and just overpower him but that sounds more like a bandage than a solution. he isnt hard "because you are learning" (lol??!). there isnt much to learn. he yells at you before he does anything important. thats not hard. this game is not hard. he is hard because his numbers are too high for where players are at that point in the game. no reason for it to remain that way. the idea that the 1st boss should be harder than the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th boss is complete nonsense. i would prefer to have the wolf be a bit easier than it currently is and allll the following bosses to be a bit harder than they currently are. not only is this the logical thing, its the business wise thing. You were suppose to grab Raging Spirits at level 11, then firewall trivializes the rest of the game.

" yeahh mapping needs some iteration for sure. dying to shit you cant see is silly bricking maps on death is odd (id be fine with a 48 hour lockout on death or something like that) resistances need some adjusting, im sure that will happen tho loads of other things i think most of it will see improvements tbh |

GIT GOOOOOOD
(meaning, buy OP gear from other players or get carried in multiplayer party. Then come to the forums and explain how EZ mode the game is) Last edited by Jokke1989#7206 on Dec 15, 2024, 7:54:46 PM

I was able to get 2 Sorc through (spark/Frost) but boy was it ugly. Had 60+ cold res and res pen for the cold sorc on the tree. A couple of things I really hated:
1. Sword Arc - takes almost whole screen. Doesn't kill you but hurts. Doesn't do it often but never found a tell for this. 2. Lasers 1 and 2 - the hit box is larger than the image so its easy to wonder into this. The fact they get super powered and keep shooting you during the fog stage doesn't help. 3. Adds - lots of adds making it a pain to roll away. It's bad enough fighting a boss. Frost nova or bone cage can help. A lot of his 'tells' are pretty fast. I watched a bunch of streamers and they all got hit from his fall and the lasers as well. Something I find interesting about the game and this fight is different classes can have VERY different experiences. My warrior walked this like it was nothing and my ranger was about 50/50. So far my xp in this game has been like battletoads had a arpg baby with the TMNT (NES for the age challenged) :) I'm kind of waiting at this point to see if there are major tuning changes before pushing act2 too much or the specialization points which is based on the best POE1 league ever :( | |
" This is not meant to be taken the wrong way -- but you are BRAND new to this entire franchise. For many of us, this was an extremely easy fight (all of them are) -- but we have years and some a decade experience in POE 1. A lot of how the game works carries over. For instance me, most of my friend -- POE 1, or 2, and probably 3 sometime in 2040 -- we don't need builds, we can play anything any build any class any gems and just go and make it along the way, and take that character through endgame. It doesn't start that way, but it does get there :) BTW -- I am a witch, witch is one of the stronger and most defensively sound classes you can pick. Its just experience Last edited by Rakie1337#5746 on Dec 15, 2024, 8:57:12 PM

I can't beat this fight, and I can't progress. My next option is to quit the game.
