This is from GGG under the poe2 bug forum, they list it as high priority, so hope it can be fixed soon. I get the freezes too.
It is good to know that they are aware of the problem. I hope it'll get fixed as soon as possible. That is the only thing I dislike about PoE2, to be honest.
Others are complaining about the harsh difficulty, not getting enough loot, their OP builds getting nerfed, and so on. I don't mind any of that. I freaking love this game as it is right now. Just these dam* freezes, man :( A little Johnny dies in me every time I have to press the power button on my PC to forcefully turn it off and on again.
I know the feeling. I played lots of POE1 and it started happening to me in that game as soon as I updated windows 11 to the 24h4 patch. You can always download an earlier version of Windows 11 and block the updating process. It's annoying but it can be done. You can also try to rollback the update to an earlier version. I can't guarantee the success of either option but I've read people say that it worked.

Yeah, I've installed Windows 11 24H2 just recently. I had 23H2 prior to that.
But this cannot be the reason why I am getting freezes, because I do not get freezes with anything else. It occurs only while playing PoE2
That is exactly the reason.

Of course this can be the reason, not all games are effected by this.

I'm starting to think about how damaging this potentially is for my PC and if I should stop playing PoE2 until this gets fixed.

it certainly can be.
the devs have said 24h2 is causing crashes, highly doubt they are just guessing.
if you updated recently you should have an option in windows to roll back to 23h2
