poe2filter.com - A PoE 2 custom loot filter generation website
" Ah, thanks for the clarification. I'm new to PoE2 and the market. Quick question... I'm only level 40, but found that too many white items were dropping for my class. I don't really bother much with crafting from normal white items. I turned off the leveling gear white items. Am I missing out on anything important by doing that? |

The new item simulator is interesting, i think it'd be nice if we could basically create a custom rule with it, like, if you made a change in the cosmetic tab but isn't applying for some reason, you could quickly copy the item and see whats "wrong" and fix it, like how sometimes you just need to enable "partial" in the cosmetic tab you know?
Also, more customization options available like the ability to change label size, color, transparency and icon of items Speaking of customization and icons, in the "My Equipment" section, there's a button beside the "Ilvl" that let you configure highlights for identified & unidentified items, but you can only change the color of the icon and nothing else I could be wrong but i feel like in 0.3 we were able to choose the icon and highlight color inside "My Equipment" no? All my gear had a square icon in the previous patch but now i noticed they're all raindrops We already get this kind of customization with uniques and quest items on the quick filter page, so i'd love to be able to tweak pretty much everything from there too, this includes: -trial keys -waystones -"my weapons" -"my armour" -"my jewellery" -"my jewels" -"other equipment" |

" Not really; if you feel like you're not transmuting & augmenting whites, then indeed you can just hide them! You can do the same thing using the 'My Equipment' filters later on (the third preset switches to those); uncheck the 'Regular Normal' checkbox. " Actually I'm afraid I'm not entirely following here, could you explain in more detail/examples? " Which items? You should be able to change anything. " All 'items' which don't belong to any of the other tiers (currency, uniques,...) have their own 'Items' tier list: https://poe2filter.com/tier-list/items You can quickly select how valuable you consider that type of item using those 'tier picker' icons you mention. You can change their cosmetics here: https://poe2filter.com/cosmetic/items There, you'll also be interested in the 'Item Overrides' section, which allows you to do what you'd like, e.g. change the map icon for any of 'My Equipment' (and several other types). In a future update, I'll again allow applying any style to any item type; not just picking a tier + possible override. Just trying to understand the market a little better for when I begin trading (still need to unlock my merchant tab). The first three presets use the SSF currency tier. I'm wondering why the third preset (level 55) is still using the SSF tier?
Wouldn't you generally start trading when you finish the campaign and want the filter to be based more on the market, or is that something you more realistically only start doing around level 70 or so? I noticed none of the presets use the "Market, Early-Game" tier, and it made me curious about all of this. |

" I'm talking about the ctrl c ctrl v function, when you paste an item on the website it could give you some options of customization, think of a mini version of the "custom cosmetic rule" or maybe it could just redirect you to the cosmetic page For example: my custom cosmetic rule has cyan applied to all gems, but some gems can ignore this rule because of the tier styles, when something like this happens i just check or uncheck "partial" and 99% of the time it fixes the problem Basically, my point is to make it easy to test this kind of thing you know? I make a cosmetic rule > doesn't work for some reason > i copy and paste the item into the filter and quickly tweak it until it does what i want " This is kind of related to what i said above, sorry it wasn't clear enough " Cool, i was talking more about how this changed going from 0.3 to 0.4 or at least that's my personal impression, i don't remember it very well tbh but i feel like i was able to customize the highlight from the quickfilter page before I know there are other ways to do that, i was just talking about the most convenient way for me personally |

On a different note, how is the "Leveling Gear" supposed to work?
Like, i'm seeing an item level 5 drop in act 2 while i'm level 20, is there any quick way to fix this sort of thing? The only way i know is going to the tier lists > gear bases > and manually change the bases for every gear type i want but i think this is too much work while leveling a new character Is there a better way to do this in the filter itself? " Basically, the Fixed/SSF tiering mode doesn't differ that much from the market-based tiers, in the sense that valuable things will also be highlighted as very valuable in the SSF tiering mode. So if you e.g. find a valuable orb like a divine orb during the campaign, you wouldn't miss it, and you'd sell that for exalts or chaos orbs so you can buy all new gear (a couple of times -- i'd only look for items costing one or a few exalts for a while). The Fixed/SSF tier just prevents *useful* currency (not necessarily valuable) from getting hidden while you're doing the campaign. It's true that once you get to A4, you could buy some of that currency, but although it would be cheap, it would still cost some exalts, which you wouldn't yet have many of, so it's still worth picking up currencies which are like 1/10th or even 1/100th of an exalt. " Well, the copy/pasted item is still shown when you go to the Cosmetic tab, and tweak your cosmetics there, e.g. enable/disable the 'Partial'. " Not for now, but it'll be coming back at a later time! " Leveling Gear is based on the difference between an item's drop level and the area level you're in; it ignores the tool's Gear Base Type Tiers. I suppose the drop level 5 item you saw in an area around level 20 will have been rare? The allowed level difference for rare items is I believe 20 levels; since a very well rolled rare could still be useful. But if you find that gap too large (it indeed probably is early on), you can reduce it using the 'config' button next to 'Leveling Gear'. " When there is a market update in the changelog, would it be best practice to update my filter even when currently just using the SSF tier, or can I just ignore updating my filter until I'm using a different tier? |
|
" It was a white/normal level 5 item, i guess i don't understand how it works because i tried both increasing and decreasing the level value but nothing changed I'm level 22 rn, i set the area level to 20, and i'm seeing a normal item with level 5 as requirement I guess the area level thing only works for ilvl? Which to me isn't enough because higher level bases have higher stats so they're the ones i want, i don't want a low level base even if it has the same ilvl as my character Last edited by Vyend#2601 on Dec 30, 2025, 2:11:17 PM

" You can ignore them for now, the tool will always use the latest values once you switch. " The value you set is the level *difference* (hence 'Diff') between the item's drop level (when the item starts to drop) and the area level you're playing in (or, more correctly, the level of the monster that drops the item). By default for white items, that's 5, so e.g. in a lvl 20 area, you should only see white items which can start dropping at a lvl 15 area. In the gear tier list tab, you can simulate this by filling in an area level. Or are you using caster weapons maybe? They are always shown regardless of level difference (by default, you can disable that behaviour too). I try to explain all of this in the (?) tooltip: " Author of https://poe2filter.com and https://poe1filter.com - Path of Exile 1 & 2 Custom Filter Generators
