Balance (Energy shield Too strong!)
If you play a character that believes in the "kill before the mob does something" rule, then you can nerf ES. But not every character clears the entire map before the mobs start doing something. I play melee minions, up to level 85 my defense was based on 8k armor (60% dmg reduction) and 75% shield block. And it simply did not work, I died when hit by regular mobs. I converted the character to energy shield 4.5k + 1k life + 1.5k mana, since then I have died 2 times and I have already done almost 90 lvl. I do not see any difference in taking damage with 5% armor and with 60%, armor simply does not work in this game. Besides, in the campaign each of us used roll at every turn, but on the maps hardly anyone does it, after the campaign poe 2 becomes poe 1 and that's the problem. Mobs use skills too fast to react, there are also too many attacks left on the ground. Nobody uses rolling as an additional new mechanic because it simply doesn't work because the game becomes fast again, to the level of poe 1

" So, did you know that when you go CI, your stun threshold and freeze threshold is 1? So you want life and CI to have the same pool but CI has to spend many points into solving stun and freeze threshold? Oh and did you notice that there isn't any near block/evasion/armor node on the upper part of the skill tree? Feedback is feedback but if you are ignorant on the downsides of CI, I think you should check 1st before giving some "very simple change" advice. I really hope GGG decides to actually fix armour and evasion before nerfing ES to the ground.
ES needs an adjustment but it is the only defensive stat in the game right now that is worth putting any investment in to. Sure armour and evasion is somewhat useful against smaller white mobs autoattacking you one at a time but that is not really something that happens in normal gameplay after the first couple of levels. |

Armor need to be completely remade. Also in a form that mixing armor and Evasion was not absurdly bad. The curve of effectiveness of armor and evasion must be changed... drastically.

To start with the things I would look into are:
1. Buffing all "life" rolls across the board. Whether the life comes from STR, gear affix, passive tree, etc. 2. Changing the armor formula so that it gives a predictable floor on defenses from physical hits. 3. Allowing armor to act more as "damage resistance" as opposed to ONLY being good for physical hit mitigation. Once I had the above changes ready I'd consider a wider balance pass and would introduce E.A. league 1 so we could see how [net new] characters evolve in the new league. Repeat the cycle of "make a lot of fixes" and "introduce new league" until you're happier with the results. Maybe having 2 month league cycles during E.A. would be appropriate?? |

" So you clearly didn't play the game... Look at the tree. you get lots of nodes making part of ES count as stun threshold that you would take if ES already. You can click a node that lets your healing potion recover ES(not that you need it, but it is there). You can get 7% block per jewel and there is a block cluster not too far left of witch-start that you can take to top it off. You'll need the stats from traveling anyway. You can annoint block node. It is super easy to hit cap or near cap with very little investment thus making your insane ES amount count even more than the 4k life. And then... grim feast doubles it..
