gender representation in future classes. big fail if as forecasted.

wanted to get on and leave my own feedback on something that has been a hot topic among the community i play in.
you guys gender locked the whole game, this isnt a big deal for a lot of people, if your one of those that's great. but for a lot of people like myself, it makes it very difficult to identify or associate myself with my character when being forced to play male figures. so i have to play classes i dont want because of limited female options or deal with playing a dude. either way your hanging a cloud over the experience.

i know making a male and a female version of everything takes extra work and thats a corner you guys are trying to cut and i accept that. (even though i think a character picker, where we get to just choose any of the available model/voice packs to be any class would completely fix the issue without you needing to make m/f for every class.)

the thing that bothers me really, and made me have to get on here and say something is that if your going to gender lock every single class then you need to give us a spread of options for both genders.

i just saw the exilecon video where you show a 1 second shot of both duelist and shadow and they are both male. are you really going to add several melee classes to game and make ZERO of the female? give the girls on here some representation please.

I think you'll get a lot of hate over this, and while most times I wouldn't agree with you, I think this genre actually should offer male and female options for each class. I don't think D4 customization is needed but you should be able to project yourself into your power fantasy character.

Edit: not that I'd disagree either, I'm just usually indifferent about this.

You can't even tell if your character is male or female the moment you put on any mtx armor set. You also can't even see your own character while in combat if you're doing a lot of explosions and skills with lots of projectiles. What you'll be looking at is the minimap and the enemies, and the ground to read the loot lol

This is the least of the problems the game has right now.

Why isn't Lara Croft a man
Why isn't Zelda a gurl (meme'd)

Because they just aren't.

Also if you NEED to see yourself in the characters you play in video games I think there's more going on that you need to explore personally.

I wouldn't worry about them wasting devtime on it, it took them literal years to make all the new animation rigs for each class. Ain't no way they're redoing every MTX in PoE 1 and PoE 2+all skills for X amount of classes of the opposite gender. That would take ages lol

Paid skins that offer no advantage are a better use of 3D modeling time? You have no idea how game development works if this is your viewpoint.

I just wanted to say I wholeheartedly agree with you.

I do understand it is a LOT of additional work having to design *all* the armor pieces for 2 body types each. However, GGG is making it difficult for a subset of players to immerse themselves in their character and want to play.

At the end of the day? That takes away from their bottom line.
