Blue Screen of Death

I do indeed have a Creative Sound card (X-FI).

I will try updating all drivers to see if it helps any. Thanks for the response.
Just a couple things to add on this, hopefully the info helps.

I disabled pretty much everything going on with my computer (aim, steam, skype, etc) and had no more crashes. I turned them back on and it seems that randomly when someone messages me (or even people logging off/on that causes sounds) with the messengers can possibly cause a crash.

I even plugged my phone into my computer to charge it and normally Windows gives the "dum-dee" sound when I plug it in, however right as soon as I plugged it in, my game crashed.

Went ahead and updated drivers for my sound card (though the last update is July 2010) and will test these things out again and report if necessary. I understand there may not be much that can be done about it right now but just thought maybe any info on the issue could potentially help in future builds.
Getting the same fairly frequent BSOD. I too have a Creative Sound card (X-FI). Last driver is from 2010 so I have the latest one.
I have an x-fi as well.
My BSODs are at a minimum now.

Updated my drivers to those late July 2010 ones and turned off Aim, Steam, Skype and anything else that would potentially make noise in the background. Since, I have had no more BSODs. Though I am also in the next difficulty and back in Act 1. I didn't have any crashes until act 2 normal so when I get to Act 2 again, I suppose that will be the real test.
I,m having the exact same problem.. I didn't get any BSOD until act 2 as well.. been playing the game for about 10 hours and it happened twice during the last 1-2 hours. Once while entering a portal and the other time i was zoning into the church lv 1.. I'm also using a creative sound card if that helps.. it's not up to date as we speak I'll go ahead and update it if thats whats causing the problem..
I also encountered the Blue screen twice, both 2nd act, both while switching to another area (once portal, once normal level change). Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic, Windows 7, 64 bit, latest drivers installed.

Edit: I forgot: The error was "Page Fault in Non-Paged Area"
I can send you a memory dumb/crash report if that helps.

We do have plans for a fix which will hopefully make it into 0.9.11 - Until then, I'd suggest switching to the default sound drivers, or another alternate driver! Most Creative drivers seem to have this problem in one form or another, if something else plays sound while Path of Exile is playing sound.

Ok, great. Hopefully you can fix it for the next version.

But I'm not aware that the X-Fi cards work with any other driver than the official one form Creative. I don't think Windows 7 recognizes the card without 3rd party drivers but I might try that again.

Thanks again for your fast responses!
Nice to hear that at least you know about it and are planning to look into it.
Here, the same as the rest of the people who posted before, Win 7 64, X-Fi Sound Card, BSOD in Act. 2 while entering other level.
Cheers and good luck.

PS: If you have a modern motherboard, it is very much likely that you can activate its sound card and deactivate your Creative card. While using that card and win7 normal system drivers, I'm guessing that you won't have any problems. Hope it helps.
