Trials are terrible
I like the act 2 trials, kind of a lot. My only real issue with them is tuning, polish, high honor not translating to bonus of some kind, and the bosses being boring due to the honor system being the main focus. The Sekhemas trials feel pretty good over all. There isn't a lot of agency in them, but there is enough that I feel some amount of control over what's going on even if there are some frustrating possible outcomes that are overtuned right now.
Fuck Chaos trials on the other hand. Maybe if the chaos attributes didnt stack or were less extreme I'd be able to have fun but like, god is the tuning for the challenges in chaos fucking garbage in comparison. It's kind of funny to me because there is a definite similarity and yet the execution for one is just so much more well thought out in comparison. Possibly because it was a POE1 league. Idk. Looking forward to them improving though. They both need polish before release in a big way. I will say that I like one of the ideas posted here. Tying honor to rewards rather than pass fail for the ascension itself sounds a bit better of a compromise. |

As a Warrior I literally HATE this honour mechanic. At lvl26 I can't pass the lvl 22 first trial, even with Molten skill (partially ranged). Why do you even consider this flaw mechanic corellated with the most important part of the game? Honour system plugs you out from the build (mine is based on life regen + thorns) so half of my build is gone.

I did the 3rd sekhema trial going into the boss room with 3k honor.
The boss died in a few seconds but the room also spawned a poisoned cloud that deleted my entire honor bar before I realized I was taking damage. It's extremely overtuned & punishing at the moment. |

agree. i dont like either trial. sanctum is just frustrating because of the honor system.. and chaos is pretty much impossible to complete right now because of the debuffs and the amount of mobs on survival missions.

What gets me here is the same reason why I didn't like Sanctum in PoE 1. It HEAVILY HEAVILY HEAVILY favors ranged and especially indirect damage (totems, etc) builds. Melee can just get rekt. Unless said melee is stacked with so much evasion they never get touched, you'll run out of Honor before you get to room 4. The best way to clear Trials as a melee? Reroll.

I can't finish the 3rd ascension because of crashing all my few attempts.
Losing all trial-key's and a bunch of time on annoying gameplay only to unlock my class identity skills feels frustrating. I don't understand how you would gatekeep a part of core class fantasy behind a brickwall of pain and suffering - in a videogame.. It makes no sense to me.
