The Mad Wolf of Ogham
|
I Challange GGG to take my Warrior exactly as is and try to kill Count Geonor within 10 tries with Controller.
4 Hours Best attempt 40% which i managed a measly 4 times. It´s clunky it´s slow it´s not fun. The bottom line is playing with controller has a lot of flaws as does the encounter design. Attackwindows as melee are extremly scarce and character attackspeed feels like they have to lift Eddie Hall World weights. The Fog Phase when the Wolf disappears and the adds run in is extremly annoying because of adds cornering you and difficulty to get out attacks. On Top of that i feel like Skills do not allways connect despite hitting clearly. I had this happening a lot with Boneshatter when trying to hit primed Enemies. The Time to get out of his Jump Attacks is extremly narrow, when you are Animation locked you will not make it. When you´re Animation locked and cancel it via Dodge you wont make it neither. His High Requiem Attacks hit like trucks and it´s not easy to read where they´ll hit depending on where you´re positioned. You burn through Lifeflasks in no time and im not a fan of them not instantly restoring Life. I tried different Passive nodes to improve but in the end it comes down to bad game design for melee characters in my opinion. Difficulty is good and all but im no fan of games creating frustration instead of enjoyment due to unfair Bosspatternchains or trashmobs blocking Character mobility and extremely low error tolerance for encounter designs in general. Yeah the bosses have some issues in this game. I have no idea how you're supposed to consistently dodge the count's lunge from the fog with no actual indicator, plus the ads blocking your movement half the time.

" His dialogue is the telegraph. He says something, pause, lunge. |
|

Nuh-uh, that's not good enough. He says something, *waits*, and then lunges from a random direction you have no way of knowing. Relying on audio cues alone, with no visual indicator from which direction and when is not nearly a good enough telegraph.

|
" Not random. It's whatever side he ran to is the approach for the next lunge. |
|
" I haven't checked it specifically, but from my observations, the dash occurs through the center of the arena from the far edge, and is completely unrelated to the direction of the previous dash. |

his leap attack being undodgable is also not fun. I can be moving when he jumps and still not be able to roll out of the way, the roll distance is less than the area of the attack and appears to center on you even when you are moving.

Having no visual indication of what the boss is about to do is horrible for accessibility. If GGG doesn't want us to know where he's going to lunge from, at least give a visual indication of the poem so that we know when to move.

Type of post that shows how "not very good" majority of players are.
He always attacks from the side he lept on. He always has audio cue to when he will attack. He always attacks in a timer, if its 4 seconds its every 4 seconds exactly that he leaps. Your dodge roll literally has iframes, just roll every 4 seconds with eyes closed and you take 0 dmg. Bad players with bad builds with 0 knowledge is the main reason everyone is complaining. " "He always attacks from the side he lept on." That´s not true from what i experienced. "He always has audio cue to when he will attack." Visual Indicator > Audio Cue 100% of the time "Your dodge roll literally has iframes, just roll every 4 seconds with eyes closed and you take 0 dmg." Doesn´t matter Adds will corner you at one point because you´ll not be able to dish out enough dmg to clear the Area. Getting Attacks out is quite Hard especially on Warrior... "Bad players with bad builds with 0 knowledge is the main reason everyone is complaining." Bad Game Design especially for Melee Characters, unfair Bosspatterns, a game balanced arround Dodgeroll, completely rng dependent gear progression paired with extreme scarcity of upgrade drops for gear, abyssmal wind up times for attacks on Warrior for the majority of Skills, being constantly bodyblocked and getting oneshotted a lot are the reason why everyone is complaining. Overall very bad assesment of the state of the game and no empathy for normal players aswell from your side... Last edited by Klegs772#3569 on Dec 12, 2024, 7:55:15 AM
