Warrior Is SO BAD...

Having played up till the "prestige unlock" warriors and monks should have a dialog at creation that states "Melee classes are still being figured out. They will be significantly more difficult to play. If failing at basic goals is a issue choose a different class".

only way it felt decent was having to dump all ALL of my resources into a weapon

i spent a ton gambling, crafting a big fatty 2h mace and then i actually felt like i was doing mildly ok.. only for my weapon to fall off hard not to long after blowing all my resources on it basically about 1/2 an act.

until you realize all of your attack animations are super slow. specially compared to bow/xbow basically assault rifling shit. and casters just blasting things.

I'm a warrior, and I legit want to know how other warriors are playing. I am about halfway through A3, have finally hit my stride, i put crystals out there and detonate with my warcry. I'm built for area damage and stun and went titan crushing blows.

The reason I say i finally hit my stride is because everything else is too slow. I'm basically committed to the two hand, and my goodness, like 2.5 second to rolling slam or sunder, and I'll tell you what, that'll get you killed.

I beat the landspeeder/pike/jet ski boss for spirit last night, and I ended up using my warcry detonate strat to knock her off the bike. Then I just had to beat her to death my using my two handed mace attack. Is this how other warrirors are playing? I coulnd't do good damage or even hit her otherwise, and that's almost my only attack fast enough to not get hit by everything she's putting in the arena.

Well I got my SSF warrior to lvl 71 so far and I'm at the endgame, these are the skills I'm using:

for mob clear:

Leapslam a group to induce that white orb thing on their heads (I still am not sure what it is exactly) then Boneshatter to pop the group.

The occasional sunder if I want to test how quickly my warrior dies.

for rares and bosses:

ancestor totem with earthshatter and font of rage, this gives me ground effects which give rage buff

Mace strike and hammer of gods are the damage dealers, hammer of gods has a long cooldown so its just the occasional burst, otherwise mace strike is where most of the damage is coming from with the occasional boneshatter when the orb is up.

For supports I have consecrated ground on leap slam, so when I jump into the middle of mob group it gives me boosted life regen. The rest is just damage related, most of the damage increase ones are on mace strike.

For the passive tree, the two big hammer shapes are good, as anything to get armor breaking as quickly as possible and the stun buildable faster helps, other than that damage, life regen, and the strength boosts for more life.

oh and for the persistent buff skills, I'm using 3 now, the fire one, I forget what its called but its the one that does fire damage explosion from overkill damage, it helps with mob clear, the armor one, and the healing cleanse one. I was able to equip 3 + some supports cause I got a spirit amulet and did the quests that give more spirit.

Honestly I don't see how they could playtested melee and said "this is ok". If you just play a caster everything is 10x easier from the campaign to the endgame. At least that's been my experience.

If stuff is too hard because you don't have good gear, just take it slow and methodical because not getting hit = infinite EHP. Bosses you get infinite tries.

Endgame the gap is even more WTF. I didn't want to use archmage support because it's so boring, reserve 100 spirit so your damage can compete, but have to no choice. Then I play a spell I don't like, spark, because it literally creates a death field around you, with a budget of around 3div, or 50 exalts pre-inflation, you can just walk around maps spamming spark here and there, everything dies as it enters your presence except rares or bosses.

I used Doryani's Prototype + unpopular armor/es bases because following a popular streamer guide is an economy death sentence in a high player count game.

Level 71 warrior here. Honestly, I went through hell to get this character to this level, and now that I've reached the endgame, it feels like I'm weaker than ever. Sometimes, level 65 enemies kill me with just ONE hit. And before anyone says I should focus on defense, take a look at this:

Am I doing something wrong?

1. Your not using a shield, so enemies always hit you. With a shield you block hits automatically, so if you get surrounded by a group who are all hitting you at once if you have just 25% block chance it helps a lot (it also blocks hits from bosses which can be a life saver when they do those multi-hit combo moves). There are also nodes on the passive tree that give you life or mana on block, the life one is pretty much a must have as it means you heal when you block damage, helps to keep your life at max (though you should also get plenty of life regen, you don't say how much you got currently)

2. Your life is very low, this is because your strength is also very low. Why do you have so much dex? Get rid of dex, take resolute technique and take the notables that boost your strength attribute by a lot (the beef one), then try to get gear that has more +life or at least +strength. By comparison my lvl 71 warrior has 2100+ life and 25% block but I can also switch to a shield that has 40% block.

3. resistances.. yah these are difficult to get all maxed, mine are not maxed either, I was finding yesterday in this one map that there were these groups of sniper mobs who would shoot an array of projectiles from offscreen that did chaos damage and it almost got me a few times, just have to watch out for that kind of stuff.

4. you have a lot of armor, more than mine does but that armor is just one facet of a defense that needs to be multi-faceted and there are also enemies that can break armor just like you can do them. So it would be fine to sacrifice some of that armor to get more life, block, or elemental resists so that your defenses are more balanced.
