I feel like POE2 is a 10 foot mozzarella stick

Bump. Bumpitiy bump.
I agree with all of this wholeheartedly. And we didn't even start to get into how ascendancy trials reward some builds massively, and cripple other completely. Sanctum will destroy most melee tanky builds, while going ranged with evasion or minion makes it super easy most of the time. In a game where you want to reward build diversity, especially in early access, this is disastrous. Secondly, locking passive respecking behind insane gold fees are for the same reason beyond absurd. You'd think GGG want maximum fluidity for new players to a new game in the test phase to try different builds. Especially since there are no planning tools or build guides. You speck into something now and it doesn't work very well? Well then, I guess you are screwed then. Either roll now character and slog through 10-20 hours of content again, or start farming content you already struggle with for little or no drops and gold. I give this launch a 2/10. Really really bad start GGG. The only salvaging factor is that the base game, music, sound effects, art and base seems good. So they have a foundation. But at this point if I were GGG, I'd pull the game and take 3 months to redesign a lot of it. They seriously risk alienating A LOT of players. |

" I can agree on tedium being wholly subjective and some people enjoy weeding their garden for weeks, which is more than fine because they enjoy it. I don't personally need to have no cooldown movement skills, I already moved from lightning to all cold on the sorceress to have enough CC to not worry about movement skills. Solution is not what I enjoy though and having to do a whole song and dance to freeze a whole pack of 4 white mobs first, to then killing them is just not fun to me after doing it for 15 hours straight. I want to know what you'd think about having a flat 30% inc movement speed on all characters as baseline? Movement is still movement and monsters would be way faster than PCs. |

Agree with everything stated here. game feels too slow and the mechanical challenge loses all it's value with very poor rewards. 90% of the boss drops are useless. and spot on with the trash mobs being way too strong. the only strat to beat them without dying is effectively just aggro some of them and back track, if you're running a build with alot freeze & cold spells you might have a better time, but as it stands now, they're way too overtuned. i died 3 times before beating the 1st act boss and all those 3 times were from his adds not him. if you missclick a dodge roll once into a crowd of white monsters you're pretty much dead.
and all this slop is just the campaign. in future leagues we're gonna have to replay the entire thing over & over again, i dont think anyone is gonna find that enjoyable, not even the ones screaming that the game is perfect and without flaws. |

" And I truly hope that people like you also don't get your way, trying to make PoE 2 into something completely different. No matter how you spin it, this is still the sequel to Path of Exile, not a completely new and different IP. |

I'm playing Mercenary, and I wholeheartedly agree that normal enemies have way too much health.
I spend half of my time actively kiting enemies backwards in order to not get hit, and with the amount of health they have, this can be quite a long distance. This results in having extremely long slogs of tedious back-and-forth gameplay, where it's always 2 steps forward and 1½ step backwards. The loot needs a tuning pass. I get that they want us to craft items, but currency is BARELY dropping. Maybe make it so town vendors always have a rare item in stock? Loot disappearing upon death feels terrible and should be moved to hardcore, or a potential ruthless mode, for people that willingly sign up for a truly punishing experience. Example in the spoiler below.
Spoiler
I was starting to struggle on damage at the beginning of A2, but managed to kill the first boss I came upon (The Hyena guy), and he dropped a rare crossbow, and I thought to myself; (HECK YEAH)
BUT... Immediately after the boss dies, you're rushed by what feels like a stampede of hyenas, resulting in me getting completely surrounded and dying and my coveted weapon upgrade disappearing... Bam, Alt + F4... |

" Unhinged take. This is a major problem a lot of people are having. The game is different. They would have updated the engine and graphics of PoE1 if they wanted to. This is PoE2. The game is different. The more you look at itemization and the passive tree and other sources of character power through the lens of PoE1, the worse a time you will have. There is a reason why support for PoE1 is not ending any time soon, it is a fantastic game in its own right. This is not PoE with new graphics and systems, this is PoE2. Get it through your heads. |
