Well, if you want to play Ruthless that's fine, it's your choice... but it should be a CHOICE... if all the game has is Ruthless mode then the game will die very very fast because Ruthless is also tedious, time consuming, unrewarding and has very very little replayability because it's such a slow grind...
The game right now caters ONLY to the top 1% of no-lifers that want to play this tedious, annoying slog fest every season... Don't look at the initial hype... most of the players will be tired of this very very VERY soon!!! This game will NOT live for 10 years off of Dark Souls raging virgins... This game will survive ONLY through the original dedicated PoE fanbase!! |

" I am a Souls player, and GGG is missing the point. They are single player games with no endgame so the campaign is everything, these games are so hard you mostly fight 1 mob at a time, and you play the game in 3rd person, so boss fights look and feel epic. PoE is a top-down isometric ARPG where each map contains hundreds of mobs and players are conditioned from D1 and D2 to believe we're supposed to clear maps quickly and fight as many mobs as possible at once. If GGG can't even understand that their long time fans are the only ones that will keep this game alive then they're in for a very rude awakening... Also people forget that GGG literally just said "it's gonna be more challenging" while not specifying how because they knew PoE fans would hate it but they also needed them to purchase those 100$ support packs... so they love to steal our money but they also now don't want us as customers... brilliant, right? They value the sweatlords, the Asmongolds and the "git gud" moronic army of sweaty virgins now and they're telling us "either git gud or leave... we don't want weak players here... we want the giga chads" Well, the giga chads (or rather giga losers) will stay for a few months until the next hype will come out... the next Black Myth Wukong... or how about Monster Hunter Wilds? This game will be a MASSIVE hit and hugely anticipated... how many of the giga chads will play Path of Dark Souls instead of the masterpiece that Monster Hunter Wilds is bound to be??? Yeah... devs are in for a very VERY rude awakening!!! |

PoE2 isn't ruthless, PoE1 actually has good character customization options on the tree - but PoE2 has almost ZERO specific damage nodes. It is so bad that it is almost impossible to scale certain skills.
(for example there is no "damage over time" or "debuff" damage anywhere on the tree to scale "currupting cry", there is only "ailment" damage but currupted blood isn't an "ailment") The only place in the tree that looks like the devs gave it ANY love is the witch/sorc which is not only the only place to find elemental damage, it is also the only place to find PHYSICAL damage(and only a few nodes of it too). PoE1 ruthless also has a lot of actually good uniques that are build arounds, but I have looked at the unique pool for PoE2 and it is rather boring.
