I have been stuck on the act 2 boss for 3 hours.

Act 2 boss took me 30 deaths but it felt so freaking good when I finally beat him. Just had to change my skills around and figure it out. This game is hard but its meant to be hard.

I remember a time when "git gud" was just a funny little quip. Sadly, it's become nothing more than toxicity nowadays.

The fact that a small group actually think it was meant to be taken serious and not a joke will always be funny to me.

I love comments like these. Imagine thinking that a Diablo-like actually requires skill. COMEDY GOLD! The entire genre is built for the casual face-roller.

Imagine being so tryhard as to think copying streamer builds is 'skill'.

"Diablo-like" does require skill. And you know what it requires more than anything else? Knowledge of the game mechanics. On day THREE people are complaining that just because their choices didn't let them walk through the content, there must be something wrong with the game.

Resists matter. A LOT. I was getting one-shotted by an act two boss (The one with the flame thrower) and after about 30 minutes I accepted that I couldn't handle it. Did I come here and say "screw this game, it's broken"? No, I stepped back and tried to figure out why I couldn't handle it.

Turns out my fire resist was -1%. I went and got some different gear, got my FR up to 48%, gained 2 levels in the process, then returned and absolutely face-rolled the boss.

Just like any "Diablo-like" game, this game can and WILL be played poorly at first. People ignore resists, synergies, skill compliment choices etc.

Yesterday I had a terrible time in an Act 2 zone. To the point I was not having fun anymore. Again, I stepped back, went and gained a few more assets for my character, changed some of my skill gem choices, and then once again, I was cruising.

If you need instant gratification, with little to know impedance to whatever you choose to do in the game, I suggest playing Minecraft. This game just may not be for you.

Or...just wait till everyone plays it for you, then just copy some youtubers meta build.

Played monk there. Nothing to do with skill. 30 deaths with melee abilities, first try with a ranged one. His second phase is catastrophically unfair to melee characters.
It's odd to read the posts in this thread. If taken at face value I had less of a problem [with 0% move speed] than many others and I've already uninstalled the game ... LOL

The funniest thing is that "get gud" would actually be gud advice for me as my problem is player skill within the limitations of the game world.

In PoE1 there are definitely things you need to dodge -- and flame dash made that so easy that I almost forgot that it was even a consideration.

********************************

The primary issue in this game [for me] is that I register "X is about to happen" about a quarter of a second (half second?) too slow and I routinely get caught in places I shouldn't be -- usually right on the edge of the damage zone.

Given that this is THE number one factor in efficient, early character progression means that this game simply isn't for me.

I also firmly believe that information processing speed (processing overload?) is the number one reason people having problems saying the game is waaay too hard while those that process information faster (or aren't overloaded) are saying that the game is too easy and needs to be even harsher to people that don't get out of the way of attacks.

I have had enough, this isnt fun.

Hope your not still stuck there :)
I AM A LIGHTING ranger. the guy who told you to get good is right. you are horrible. stop coming on here to ruin the game asking them to make it easier because you are bad at reading basic mechanics. GET GOOD.
I literally one shotted the wolf without any issue whatsoever with a Witch, i didn't even get below 50%HP. You guys should learn how the game works honestly, even with simple knowledge about PoE 1 you should be able to have good enough gear to beat him quite easily, and mechanically speaking, i'm not even good at Souls games, i'm not used to roll, and i still found it pretty easy.

It doesn't matter how many fancy words you use guys to decorate your lack of skill, it's definitely not that hard, even Quin is ahead of you guys, think about that...
