What is happening in this thread, OP is talking about the Act 2 boss and people are now bickering over Act 1.
That being said, this is nonsense:
"
You are so incredibly slow, that even if you pre-move from the wolfs Aoe circle and dodge perfectly, it'll not be enough to move out of it. And you'll get 1 shot. Bosses casts abilities way faster than you avoid them. They worked 7 years on this, and haven't tested it once?
Not only do you have more than enough time to dodge this attack if you've got at least 10% speed on your boots (which, if you don't, go get some boots and transmute them until you hit speed. What are you doing with your life moving around at base speed after the 3rd zone?), it's absolutely not a oneshot if you have ANY defenses at all on your items. I don't even think it did half of my life on a merc, and I was NOT built super tanky. Do you just have literally zero armor and zero flat life on your gear?
Because if that's true... I mean, I found your problem, guy.

You are wrong, the circles and abilities by the wolf gets empowered the longer the lower his health gets. I've replayed the fight so many times that I know by heart how much you take from a hit when the boss has full health compared to low health. The issue like i've said several times now, are not the beginning of the fight, it's when the wolf has less health. You mightve had better items and build and just powered through that part. But just because you did it, it doesn't mean other people had same luck with items or had same build. You gotta look into my situation and understand it, which you clearly don't.
And I'm telling you, I am nonstop moving and rolling out of the circle, I don't have enough movement speed to dodge it. The telegraph is supereasy to read, and to start pre-move+roll out of. But i'll say it ONE MORE time, it's in the end of the fight it's not possibile to dodge. Maybe the boss gains ability haste/attack/cast speed. But there's definitly a difference.
The boss does not gain any speed, you are getting flustered. If you are constantly dodging you are being punished for that by the stand-up animation that slows you down. Which is there specifically to prevent you from dodge-spamming, another thing I find hilarious about all the complaints that all they ever do is dodge, yeah, that's the problem.
The only "upgraded" ability is the ice beams. They get bigger and do more damage. The circle slam is no different. He phases out as he looks upwards, and then the circle appears. The timing is the same. The damage is the same. It's very easy to tell, you're probably low on pots/hp in general, and are getting hit by the circle slam when you're not full hp.
I can promise you that my damage was a dumpster fire, and my HP was totally on par for a dex based character. You can take literally zero damage in that fight if you are proficient enough. I didn't of course, as it was like my third time attemping him, and was far from perfect, but I can tell you that you can dodge out of the circle slam every single time if you are actually reacting immediately to the telegraph. Again... the telegraph is completely before the circle appears on the ground. If you are moving to dodge based on seeing the circle under your feet, yes, you are gonna get hit every time without some sort of movespeed or mobility.
Your character can do that, mine can't. It's bad design, and has nothing to do with "skills". My character isn't fast enough, and i've told you so many times now, the telegraph is supereasy to see and react to, and it doesn't matter if I pre-move perfectly and roll in last second, it'll always hit in the last 30% of the fight.

I am gonna find some way to get negative movespeed from the base movespeed and record myself dodging everything in the fight I swear

I did in 3 tries.
2 was enough to learn the move set and know that its physical and lightning dmg.
So i stacked lightning resist rings and a charm and i wiped the floor with him.
It was def a tough fight, but not unfair.
Its ok to accept a game is too difficult for you. but saying its bad because you could not overcome it is just silly.

Oh, that boss? I died 2 times too, because I don't read and don't listen. On the third try I realized that there is a Zana mechanic where you need to stay next to your teammate. Hate this, just let me kill and steal in peace

Act 2 boss took me 30 deaths but it felt so freaking good when I finally beat him. Just had to change my skills around and figure it out. This game is hard but its meant to be hard.

Great feedback people, highly constructive.
Also,
git gud
I love comments like these. Imagine thinking that a Diablo-like actually requires skill. COMEDY GOLD! The entire genre is built for the casual face-roller.
Imagine being so tryhard as to think copying streamer builds is 'skill'.
