Trial of Chaos is the single worst experience I've had in ARPG as a ranger

One: Incredibly build specific. Ultimatum was already build specific in PoE 1. It has not changed. You need regen, you need survivability, you need specific build. This is why I always skipped Ultimatum in PoE 1. Now it is mandatory.

Two: RNG. Couple this up with the first point and you got yourself a disaster. Area two is always the "fight in small space, and we spawn lots of mobs on you". Well you happen to get a rare mob with flask siphon and/or mana siphon and your ranger build is done for. These fights used to be bearable in PoE 1 because we had good movement skills. Now we have NOTHING. Escape shot is actually so fucking useless that it's better to just run away than try to use it and be locked in the animation for 2 seconds.

Three: Mob design. The first part is already a spectacle. "Kill all mobs". And what mobs did you guys choose for this event? Some chargers that go all over the map when they miss you and you have to keep searching the map all over for them. Just ... i can't even...

Four: Animations. Do we REALLY need a god damn 5 second animation to socket in the gems we pick up? I mean would it really be that bad if we could just go and pick up the three small items. Smack them down and be done with it? Noooooo... Must have a 5 second animation of you putting in the gem stones to the sockets. Oh you chose a ghost to follow you? Well too bad enjoy your ruin. Oh the whole area is blanketed with lighting and socketing the gems will 100% kill you and you can't avoid it? Well too bad. But look at this nice shiny animation!

Just... no.

Nerf the everliving shit out of this place or I swear to god 90% of casual players will stop at this point. I have 4000 hours in PoE 1 and I'm literally thinking about giving up.

Came here to say the same. Ive picked both the "Monsters have energy shield" and "Monsters deal more and take less damage". The result was a 10 minute fight to get through the boss energy shield, only to die to the first chaos breath they do (one shot, and its the size of half the arena).

Also, the moment the boss flies up to charge one of its attacks, they recover around 15% of the ES, which makes the fight even more of a slog. And its a common attack, too.

Guys grow a pair and enjoy the difficulty, its perfectly balanced I loved it and smashed the hell outta it with some good ol brain power. Grow some neurons and kick some ass. Stop tryin to make shit easy in life by complaining RISE TO THE CHALLENGE.
This isn't D4 with a thousand million script kiddies. Go pray for weakness elsewhere make this shit even harder please. Thanks GGG for a REAL game.

Well, this isn't PoE either... because the game doesn't have loot (so there is no reason to kill anything other than elite monsters that MIGHT give you one rare every 3 hours)

Secondly, the game is NOT HARD... it's tedious... just makes you waste time on useless thing over and over and over and over... in a game that you're supposed to redo the campaign again and again and again for a decade...

So in a game like this, people with 4000 hours of gameplay in PoE1 that have re-done the campaign about 150 million times there, they are quitting before they do the campaign ONCE!!!

Finally the fact that you're defending Ultimatum shows me everything I need to know about you... Ultimatum was the worst mechanic they ever created and NOBODY liked it... it's not challenging, it's bullshit...

Go play this game with the rest of the 2k players that will be left when people get tired of the bullshit and this game will die in a year at best...

When the streamer hype is gone only morons will be left in this game...
The real problem is that it is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult than its suggested level, due to some absolutely atrocious and intense mods added to it. I've gleaned you only have to go four rooms in for the ascendancy, but I'm pretty sure you'd have to have a build at a significantly higher level, or a more reliable source of decent gear. I picked up gargantuan flasks and that might help me get through it, but I'm still basically going to have to fish for a favorable seed based on my previous encounters. Someone had said they want to see a dev play this at the recommended level and I'd pay money to see it.
Thanks for proving my point, this game will go down in history as the best game ever and for sure will NEVER die, this is real gaming and its just beginning. This is a true MASTERPIECE. Go away haters we don't need you.

100% agree. I played POE 1 and on my first campaign walk through I died once...literally once without a build guides. In poe 2 i've already died 95 times and it doesn't even matter cause there is no loss and only gain. everytime I died I had to figure out what I did wrong, address it, and move on. This is literally the best game i've played in years.
The mechanics that make you stop moving combined with the mechanics that punish you for not moving is just bad design.

The boss and rares are too tanky for a level 32 area.

Stop responding to the obvious troll.

Love this game but ultimatum trial is a complete mess. I didn't think I could hate anything more than sanctum until this. Fix this crap.
