POE 2 -- critical lack of gems, skill and support. No health on tree..

So there's barely any skill gems, and there's barely any support gems. Some of my sockets are just completely empty because there's nothing worth putting in the links.

What a shame.. I expected like 3-4x more gems both skills and supports.

Feels way to empty skill wise.

I don't want 10 pre-approved options. I want limitless potential -- this is as limited as humanly possible -- not to mention, 90% of the builds people play? I don't play those.

So these classes with hard coded skill gems? That's very very bad. I almost play zero of the skills on every single class offered.

Frankly if this were a full release and the gems were in the state they are now (severely limited, mostly mediocre, choices so limited you can't even link all your gems, there's no supports for them) the game would be junk to me.

I expected MORE skills than POE 1, not less, and worse, and poorly tuned skills. Like you guys missed on every single level when it comes to skills/supports, it's about a 10% success as far as I'm concerned.

Add in another couple hundred gems. Not kidding. If you want me to play this dumb shit for a decade you better seriously add a STAGGERING amount of gems.

This feels extremely unfinished. If they are saying 80% of the game is complete then I'm guessing that last 20% is the fact there are no skills or supports in the game -- and they better be adding that 20% back.

Please think about that also in POE 1 your character is very limited in which skills and supports it can use until you find Siosa and later all skill gems from Lilly.

And also even if it feels like you get less skill gems, most of those you got in POE1 where also not usable to support your skill or for your weapon type or you could not use them due to level requirement.

And there is half of the classes and skills/supports still missing.
After getting to endgame you might find that there is a much bigger selection than you think :)

For drops: yes, I also would like some more uncut-support gems ;)

Not to me it's not. I have a LOT more options in POE 1 on any fresh character than POE 2.

The choices in skills for POE 2 are almost entirely things I'd have not selected. It's like a mash of all my least favorite things, forced into characters and no way to play whatever build I want anymore.

Thta is the opposite of why i'm here. I want the opposite of what they are trying to give me.

I want limitless options like back in the old days when a tabula and ANY 6L could basically 1 tap shaper before phases. THat is what an ARPG is to me, exclusively.

I expect 1 button press to clear multiple screens in every single direction around me, maps to be 10-20 second affairs, and bosses to not ever have phases, or dialog. Just die in 1-2 seconds. THta's peak fun for me.

In poe1 you can also buy a handful of skills from the vendors immediately
Regarding the part in the title “no health on tree”: 1 strength gives 2 life 👍

Good one.
These are the gems that are initially available from the get-go. I'm not 100% sure but there could be some way to improve, change or entirely new drops in the endgame.

You need to consider that Path of Exile 1 has 11 years of development behind it - and a staggering 41 Leagues of content.

Not only is it early access - but they have made siginficant room for future league content by limiting what is available on full release. That's why people are moving 10km/h and bosses feel souls-like, to name a few examples. Future-proofing is essential in the early stages of development to prevent an overabundance of features and hard clutter.

The game would be incredibly hostile to new players if it were to include all 41 Leagues of content, even excluding that not present in Path of Exile 1.

To then develop another 41 Leagues.... yeah, no.

It's like you dont understand what Early Access is.
What an absolutely brain rotted take
