Path of Exile 2 is not fun - It is tedious at best and frustrating / annoying at worst.
" Naw man, getting world records in MS Flight Simulator 2024 challenge league. Never bought D4. I agree with this guy, not a lot of fun. I'm finding it's tedious more than it's challenging. I also don't enjoy the control schemes available to me. There's so many other games I can play... in it's current state, POE2 has been kind of a let down. It's only Early Access - I was half expecting this. But with all the hype coming from streamers, I was seriously expecting a funner game than this. Not find this fun, sorry. But if you are, I'm happy for you. |

The game is Boring, i agree, we sleep in everything it's like " we want to make the game difficult and deep" and at the end it's just bad design and stupid ideas. I've been trash about D4 for lack of content, but the more i pla POE2, ,the more i think it's not so bad at the end haha.
Waiting for Titan Quest II now and doing some Last Epoch stuff for fun, because at least it's Fun even it has problems. |

A little bit slower than the current "Masterpieces", which is a good thing and exactly what the audience wants, if you want regular, bland pre-PoE2 ARPG experience, there is always D4 and other diablo-likes, just know that the rest of the audience loves every piece of the game.
Just look at the score the individual critics give it, and you will have a picture of how "niche" the audience is, lol. |

" If I didn't want to play I wouldn't be here in the first place. I am by no means a D4 fanboy, it was the first time playing a game like that 'ARPG' - I think - as I was invited by a friend, and it was fun.. being swamped by waves of mobs and you had the resources to survive and had the abilities to wipe them out... it reminded of 'Gaunlet' back in the day... it was a lot of fun, satisfying and I even bought the next DLC as the story was quite compelling. In contrast, this has been hard from the get go, story has been slow and linear, no real side missions apart form minor bosses, no real strength upgrade or it's been a struggle and feeling weak, underpowered and skint all the time isn't great... it's just not fun. And when you do get past something it's not exhilerating.. it's thank f%$^$ that's over. I need to step away for a bit. It really has to be a single player run through because if you ask for help and somebody joins you it doesn't make it easier it gets harder... if I wanted harder I would have chosen 'hardcore' mode. We find ourselves saying to guild members, sorry you really need to try and do this on your own as it won't get eaiser if I join you. Sorry to keep comparing D4 but you didn;t have to travel back to base every 5 minutes either to sell stuff, you can't do a whole map here and then go right, let's see what riches we have and spend some time filtering through your hoard and choosing what to try and upgrade... you have like 8 items of junk to sell for meager coin.. then back through the portal... see you in 5 minutes. Repetitive boringness... Give me an unaturally huge backpack where I can hold loads of stuff or another couple of tabs where I can carry some gear to swap into depending on the encounter... or give my floaty jumpy uselss pet some storage... Maybe I should go back to D4, where I can ride through an open map from the north to the south on my shiny lion and just admire the places I pass through and find some hidden nuggets or caves I can stop to investigate. Beyond all the hype, for an average gamer there is no comparison. D4 wins hands down on being a fun game to play with friends and explore and get lost in for a while - outside of the campaign story. POE2 is just a hard game. You'll probably find a lot of souls-like players really enjoying it, while people who are not used to difficult games in this day and age being perplexed. There are also not many build guides which POE1 players are used to. This game is more complex and nuanced than D4 in every way, which may turn off some players, D4 is after all streamlined for the masses. It's OK not to like something, or it may be that some people need a bit longer to get used to POE2. They are already fixing the drop rates and making life easier in other ways, have to remember this is early access for a reason.

" I think this is a good point. Maybe either ACT 1 or a pre-ACT should have been used to highlight the new processes and features. I didn't play POE1 so don't see the contrast, but yes I agree D4 does seem to have been more open and forgiving to new players of the genre. I'm sticking with it and hope some of the upcoming changes will change that experience for myslef and others. |
