New to ARPG. People say this PoE 2 is hard.
" I played about the same and i can say you are just wrong. Being convoluted for the sake of it was the biggest poe1 flaw. Im glad they cut that crap down to bare minimum. Boated mechanics do not make game hard, they make it annoying to keep track of everything. Last edited by kuciol#0426 on Dec 7, 2024, 10:47:56 AM

" you don't get it. i played 6000 hours in an ARPG called Path of Exile. after all this time you come here and write to me and others like me that ARPG is a bad genre, and Souls Like is good. so we should accept that POE has become Souls Like. don't you think that's at least impolite? And it wasn't about paid respec, although that was also part of the previous game. I don't know why you brought that up. Open Craft of Exile, maybe you'll find out what I'm writing about. |

" and besides that you advise us to go play something else. that's the cherry on the cake. Welcome to the Path of Exile community |

" Playing a game you don't even like, why? Just to be an elitist or what? |

" I think its confusing how someone with 6000 hours in the first game is having a hard time on a sequel which in my experience had few changes regarding the combat. Like I said before, the combat is slower and much more punishing than Diablo. If I had 6000 hours in a game like PoE 1 I would be used to the mechanics of the game and be ready for its sequel which reviewers have been saying its going to be much more difficult. A game that is challenging is not a bad game. It means the game requires you to put effort. And from what I've seen, it seems a good handful of players prefer to just 1 shot everything including bosses. How is that fun? Do you really not like a challenge in video games? And I think its impolite to go against the developers ideology of making their very well made sequel challenging compared to other ARPGs. By the way, the PoE community isn't the first community to complain about game mechanics. The same can be said with other games like Helldivers 2. It would be a total waste to have this gritty game turn into Diablo. I've said the same in Helldivers 2, big enemies should feel and hit hard but apparently people wanted to 1 shot everything. |

"What makes you think that this is so? Have I ever mentioned that I have a hard time playing POE2? Either you are a troll or you don't understand what I'm writing. Last edited by bachgaman#6713 on Dec 7, 2024, 12:13:27 PM

ARPGS usuallly attract neckbeards with zero to none reflexes that have no life and are able to grind 24/7. In PoE 2 it seems you actually have to have skill instead of relying on braindead steamrolling with grinded items. This seperates the chaff from the wheat and I find that tremendously amusing.

" You do understand how people get to those builds, right? They don't start out like that, they have to grind for them... without the benefit of being able to steamroll... which requires them to *checks notes* have reflexes. MOAR PANTS, because every good game needs a pointless meme.

"That's why you're here? POE2 is advertised as an ARPG |

" I'm just glad GGG went with the "Souls-like" gameplay instead of turning PoE 2 into another Diablo. According to the positive reviews, I can say that most of us agree with the direction the developers went with for this game. Not trying to be rude but yes, if you do not enjoy playing a game, I strongly believe that you should uninstall and quit playing a game you do not enjoy. The point of making this thread was me being confused to how or why people are saying bosses are "unbeatable". But the most unhinged ones saying "I used to 1 shot bosses in PoE 1 but I can't in PoE 2". There are so many games out there that can offer such a gameplay. Even so, offering you a pay to win microtransaction store. PoE 2 should be a good example of what an ARPG is like while offering a challenging experience for players that put in the time and effort to learn boss mechanics. |
