I don't think anyone sees it as a race but you don't want to be the one looking at everyone else having fun...

Its not as simple as "heres a pre download on Steam"

As they would be using a store front they dont own there is various checks and balances, so to speak, that have to be done.

Also Steam only updates at different & certain times in different & certain regions.

Its a lot less strightforward than you think :D

may you try and insert your Key in Steam? Works fine for me, preload done.

So stuck this morning at 57% for 2 hrs in steam download. Changing region completly bricks my download progress now i need to restart the whole download.... progress wasn't safed thanks steam... i tryed the stand alone client sometimes i have a disconnect bad internet here not stable the download progress not saved and i need to download again you dont even get a pause button or change download speed in the stand alone client that because i switched to steam. weekend brocked for me
