"Pause" function will be a big problem.
It automaticaly makes multiplayer way worse bcs it gives single player a huge advantage.
Plus it trivializes boss fights, because you can pause the game every second to dodge boss mechanics without the need to learn them. The Maven "simon says" mechanik f.e. would be a complete joke if this would be a thing in POE1....same for almost all other boss mechanics. It's avery abusive function + it kills multiplayer completely. Having a protection for crashes is nice but being able to abuse this feature by ourself without having any game crash is very bad for the game. It's somewhat trivially solvable by burying the pause button under a couple menus that don't stop the game, other games already do that. This way you are still able to find a safe corner to pause the game if you really need to, without letting you use it as a reactive crutch.

It will never stop making me laugh when I see someone suddenly having an opinion minutes after a streamer has the same opinion. You should at least credit Raxx if you're going to plagiarize his work, OP.
Anyway, I'll tell you the same thing I told him: it doesn't actually matter because the only times that boss kills mean anything are for races and gauntlet-type events, where this will feature will certainly be disallowed, if not disabled completely for the duration of the event. People can pause-spam if they really want to avoid learning boss mechanics, but in the end all it does is prevent them from learning those boss mechanics. It's like cheating on your homework in school; you're just setting yourself up to fail the test. |

This "feature" just catched my eye 2 days ago while searching reddit for a task related to my work and the first thread that appeared was the "pause function" in POE2. Plus as mentioned it makes Multiplayer way worse than playing Solo, because this is a huge feature for Solo Player. That will literally destroy Hardcore.
It's worse than logout-macro, and it means players will ONLY die to sudden one-shot mechanics that they didn't see coming; whic means , GGG will put even more sudden one-shot mechanics.and in ENdgame? Lets Pause and call a friend for help , lets pause and reorganize, lets pause and reset the boss so i dont die , and in dont have to search the boss again. And sorry for my bad English , not my main language |
