Disappointed with GGG Support: Why My $485 Spend Didn’t Earn Me a PoE2 Early Access Key

unfortunate turnout but if they draw a line alot of people fall through.

even if they're generous in some cases, those people will thank them on reddit, leading to all other "unfortunate cases" to bombard ggg's support with requests for equal treatment.

age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
To OP:
I get that in an ideal world maybe they would have made an exception for you.
BUT, they are (if you read the bottom of their FAQ) being spammed by thousands upon thousands of people, asking for special treatment. In order to handle that, they kinda have to stick to the line they've already drawn in the sand.

And to the people slandering GGG calling them "scummy" and claiming they "spat" on supporters, I mean, just read the bloody announcement before you claim there was no clarification.

It says quite clearly, that people who HAVE SPENT aka past tense aka prior to the announcement, will get an invite. English really isn't that hard (it ain't my first language either).

Your spent amount will always be "have spent" after you spend it

They would likely have phrased it the same, if it was supposed to mean what I think most assumed it meant
Phrasing it like this would include both past and future customers reaching the amount mentioned

Op hadnt spent the money on the day and time the anouncment was made,it doesnt matter if op has spent it now

they drew a clear line

ofc its easy to missunderstand it, but the statment is very clear

for it to mean anyone who will reach that threshhold regardless of date/time they would have said "anyone who spent" not "anyoyne who has spent"

No they did not
Drawing a clear line would be
"Anyone who has spent $480 at the time of this announcement will receive a free key for PoE 2, future purchases will not count towards the total amount"

I want to thank everyone who have posted in this thread.

I hope you understand where I'm going with that.
I'm not thanking people who will have posted when I look here tomorrow.

In any case, like I mentioned; I get the OP would've like it different, but I also strongly get why GGG has to draw a line somewhere, or the ramafications would be even larger.

Enjoy your launch! ;)

reading with comprehension is a dying art, friend. not to mention anyone thinking rationally would at least ask support to confirm if buying now will count. and this is even before we get into stuff like self sabotage which is currently trending.

Couldn't have said it better myself. ;) All the best to you my dude

Damn maybe read the FAQ

From their FAQ:
"
How will I know if my lifetime purchases meet the threshold?
You can check your past purchases by visiting Your Account on the website and selecting, "View transactions."

Your valid purchases will include any purchase that was made with dollars instead of points. Points keys that were redeemed on your account will not contribute to this total.

Please note that lifetime purchases only count the packs and purchases made prior to the release of Path of Exile 2 Early Access Supporter Packs.

A lot of people have been emailing customer support to ask if they meet the threshold. We'd prefer if you could wait until the Early Access begins and see if you're immediately invited, and then contact support if you didn't get an invite but you believe your lifetime support exceeds $480 USD.
