Fextralife was GGG's first big L
Sadly this is true. GGG should do some legal move against them. What fextra doing right now is "screw the devs who trusted in me, I rather make tons of clicks and get myself and my wiki popular." This is beyond unrespectful to devs he will most likely quit the game anyways. He will just ride the hype train with clicks to his garbage wiki site.

This isn't a Grinding Gear problem. This is a Fex problem. Fex is an armpit stain, but he still counts as games media (somehow) and that means he gets a review code. This is how games work. Media get early copies so they can have reviews ready to go, but normally they abide by review embargos. Fex, however, has never met an embargo he isn't willing to piss on if it means being FIRST, because his entire worthless business model relies on beating everyone else to the punch no matter how terrible and useless his early 'information' is.
Solution: roll eyes, ignore Fex as the pointless loser he is, move on. She/Her

If I was GGG, I'd be investigating how this happened. No serious person in the games industry is unaware of Fextralife's skullduggery, and would consider them "traditional media".
It's either rank incompetence, or Something is off. Last edited by t0lkien#7048 on Dec 2, 2024, 10:18:20 AM

Remember that a company's actions and words are all part of its marketing strategy to make money.

I think we're all in agreement that Fextralife sucks, but isn't all this drama just a touch overblown? I mean, you do know that you can just... ignore them, right? Threads like this are not activism, they're engagement; you're essentially promoting Fextralife here, in a way that will likely help their algorithmic engagement metrics.
GGG have already done the thing they need to do for this go-around, and might well avoid working with Fextralife in future given how shitty they're being about things, but... maybe we should just ignore Fextralife's existence for now, and go back to talking about the game? Just a thought, but I'm not seeing any constructive commentary or discussion happening in any of the multiple threads that have been started on this topic. Seriously, Fextralife are basically trolls; stop feeding them. Stay sane, exiles! Last edited by NicknamesOfGod#1810 on Dec 2, 2024, 9:29:19 AM

Should GGG have a better vetting process? No doubt. But I struggle to see how people can make such a big deal about this.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Never heard of this person before.

Oh, come on, they did it for the sake of money. Doing things for the sake of money is not bad if GGG does it, right?
